| LoricDAHPaladin08-15-04, 01:22 AM | What is the most damage you have done in a single hit/spell/whatever? This evening I was able to, after rolling a 17, 18, 19, 20 with the following: Strength 27 ( +8 ( with 2 hand grip +4 more for +12 total ) ) Specialization ( +2 ) Weapon Enchantment ( +5 ) Holy Damage +7 ( rolled that from a range of 2-12...applied once ) Die rolls 7, 6, 8 and 7 total 111 points of damage to a Rakshasa. After the 25 damage reduction, it was a measley 86 points of damage. My friend, Deafbymetal, watched the rolls. It was incredible. The attack JUST PRIOR to that landed a grand total of 79 damage ( before damage reduction ) which was amazing to me then! What is your finest single attack? |
| Seeker9508-15-04, 04:37 PM | 1st level Half-orc rogue with spiked chain and 20 Strength did maximum damage on her first hit ever: 36 points against an Ogre. [2d4+(5x1.5)]x2 +1d6 She rolled a 20, confirmed a crit and rolled max damage. It was her first roll ever in D&D. She was elated, and impressed the hell out of my gaming group of long-time players. |
| LoricDAHPaladin08-15-04, 05:26 PM | Who was playing the Half Orc Female? Sounds like the player was a newcomer. |
| Salla08-15-04, 08:16 PM | Hmm. I don't uber-twink much ... I think it was in the high 120s on an Empowered Maximized Fireball against a Cold-subtype creature 60 Damage for Maximized Fireball +20 (or so) for the +5d6 from Empowering. ------ 80 x1.5 (for Fire Attack on Cold Subtype). ----- 120 Exact numbers may vary ... it's been a while. |
| Egres08-15-04, 08:49 PM | I've done 73 damage with my 3d level rogue-fighter(2Rogue-1Fighter).... How? I simply cutted the rope one of my friend was hanged on to.... I had to balance accounts with him.:D |
| xorn king08-16-04, 01:08 PM | [Wrong topic] |
| Zherog08-16-04, 03:45 PM | I once had a 3rd level barbarian do 75 points of damage with one swing of his greataxe - I was quite impressed. A natural 20 strength, raging, power attack for 3 and a +1 weapon. Confirmed the crit, so I got to do 3d12 + 51 damage. The sucky thing was the critter I hit only had 6 hit points left. :bored: |
| masterofmayhem08-16-04, 04:13 PM | My half-orc barbarian hit a critical when powerattacking for his full BAB. 112 damage. Killed one of the bosses (a druid) in one hit, then our druid made a friend out of his old animal companion (a dire bear). Then the other boss (a fighter) got quadruple-teamed and ran away. That was the best timing I've ever had on a critical . . . |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast08-16-04, 06:42 PM | 240 points of damage from one attack is the most I have dealt to one target. Think red great wyrm with the maximise breath weapon feat. Hey, you never said DM's monsters dont count ;) Seriously though, I think it was probably around 70 damage using an empowered fireball with a 12th level wizard. |
| Telperion08-17-04, 08:11 AM | You can get to around 100 points with a spell caster without rolling any dice. Simple example: empowered maximized fireball. 90 points of damage and you only burn off a level 9 spell. Yeah, that really does the trick for anyone without immunity to fire. |
| Steelgryphon08-17-04, 05:57 PM | lvl 20 psion Criticaled Maximized Energy Ray 18x6+18=126 damage |
| Naeron08-18-04, 12:22 PM | I don't know about the highest (that would be my 9th level paladin using spirited charge, smite evil and 4 points of Power attack on a Fire Giant who got a critical, it was (1d8+25) * 5 damage for about 160 damage) but the most satisfying was in 3.0 with my Fighter 2/Cleric 3 with a Bull's Strength running (for 20 STR). A Dire Bear did a partial charge in the surprise round and Combat Reflexes kicked in as it arrived for an AoO, rolled 20 followed by 15 for a confirmed critical and then 10, 9, 10 on the dice for exactly 50 damage. The bear then rolled a 1 on its Fort Save and expired from Massive damage. |
