| CosmicChaos11-26-07, 09:17 PM | I am thinking of having my PCs to attend a dance. This dance will have NPCs from a rival nation there. NPCs specifically sent to run interference with these PCs and remove an Artifact from their belongings (in a bag of holding). The majority of the PCs are male and the rival nation favors women so several will probably be female high level casters. In theory the party members should be able to recognize their ancient enemies by sight, but I want to mess with them first. Sure I could use alter self, but these women are Lawful Good and would only come to this party under no false pretenses. PCs are Neutral to Evil. Good characters aren't allowed. Evil campaign. Any suggestions on how to remove the Artifact from someone's bag of holding for a Rogue without killing the player? It is unlikely that the carrier of the artifact will leave the bag of holding with it in it behind with his followers. This dance will be occuring in a third nation currently at war with a forth nation. The PCs are currently travelling through the war torn nation. The NPCs are giving the third nation financial support behind the scenes for a shot at the Artifact. |

Somehow, the PC becomes aware that they have the wrong bag (full of somebody else's stuff), but everybody around them seems to have an identical bag of holding. If done correctly, the PCs don't even have to know that the mix-up was intentional until much later. Then it becomes a game of how to a.) find out which bag is the right bag and b.) get is back, without creating an international scandal. |
