| Malraux06-03-07, 09:50 AM | I need some advice on running Danovich's response to the party. So my group went to the chapel before seeing Madam Eve and got their asses handed to them. I am glad that I swapped the CoD spell for a mass inflict spell, as everyone but the barbarian failed, so I would have had a near TPK. The fight actually got pretty exciting when one party member tried to grapple Danovich. He barely succeeded, and then on Danovich's turn Danovich won a grapple check and moved the grapple to the opening to the basement. Luckily the party member went next and ran for the stairs hoping he could get out, and was able to do so. The party then ran from the church, with several party members at close to zero HP. In any event, how would others handle Danovich's strategy from here. He's lost his big gun, but now knows the party presents a threat to him and his son. Should he move to attack the party elsewhere, or is he just nuts enough to hang out where he is? Any advice on tactics? |

He might be erratic, but that does not mean he will allow Doru to ravage the village at will, meaning that he will probably stay inside the church. He knows they're around and he'll be prepared for it. Have him use his knowledge to his advantage. Get some fresh corpses from the graveyard and make 10 HD worth of skeletons and zombies that'll stick around even if they succeed in killing Doru. Use Magic Circle against Good and Shield of Faith to give them that fighting edge. Desecrate seems like a nice one to pull on the party, shaft the divine casters and buff your own troops. Bear in mind that Danovich will not need to get food elsewhere if he just casts Create Food and Water once and spends a Purify Food and Drink for the next two weeks to keep it fresh. Happy hunting and of couse YMMV |
