Yet again I find myself at a quandry about which book to buy. I am a player and am interested in DMing (although have never done so before). Here are my top book interests currently.

Complete Adventurer
Manual of the Planes
Fiend Folio
Draconomicon
Races of Destiny

Which one should I go with? (Can only afford one until late September) The question is also not so much "which one is best?" as it is "Which one will give me more options as a DM?"

Books I have and enjoy-
PHB
DMG
MM
MM2
MM3
Lords of Madness
Complete Warrior
XPH
CP
Magic of Incarnum

Complete Adventurer would be my suggestion if you were a player. It has material for DMs too, but Fiend Folio will have more.

Of course, if you're going to be running a planar campaign, get a planes book.

If you're going to be using a lot of dragons, or are focusing your campaign on them, then by all means by Draconomicon (it's also a great read).

Personally, I don't like the Races-of series. They're not bad, but there are so many other books out there, I don't see myself ever deciding to buy it.

Of that list, Complete Adventurer is the winner, hands down.

The Complete Adventurer is good, and full of useful feats and whatnot. But the long-range usefulness of the Draconomicon to a DM is quite high. Unless, of course, the campaign doesn't use many dragons.
