Deck of many Things Props [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-02-04, 12:54 AM years ago, there were two sets of card stock inserts in Dragon and Dungeon magazine. One set was in full color, and the other was black and white. The Deck of Many Things.
Does anyone know where i might find copies of these, or pdfs or anything like that at all, or if there are versions available for download that individuals have made?
I want to throw the deck out soon in my game, and want to have the originals, or something really cool. Playing cards simply wont do.

07-02-04, 01:16 AM I once made my own prop deck, using blank index cards and drawing a picture on each with colored pencils.

07-02-04, 11:01 AM You can even get Tarot cards in different shapes and styles. My personal favorite are the Mythic and Hude decks that are little less 'modern' in style and appearance.

FYI, the Deck of Many Things can easily and quickly screw-up a campaign. Have a purpose in mind (destroy it, trade for other magic or a favor), rather than just another item on the pile of loot.

07-02-04, 12:57 PM No kidding. Last time I had one in the game was during running Egg of the Phoenix. One player (a worshipper of the goddess of chance) wished for all other party members to also become worshippers of the same goddess. Never mind that the party had two priests of other gods. Never mind that some of the new converts decided that (as born-again dicemen) they should roll d10 to see how many cards they should draw. It was horrible. Just horrible. Demons, flames, treachery, ruins going off left right and centre. While my campaign crumbled about me, the enraged players were torn between vengeance and power-madness. A newbie player joining us for the evening (!) drew the "reverse any situation" card and was promptly browbeaten into undoing the wish by all present (I sat back and prayed to the Great God Gygax that he would succumb - praises be to the one true lord). Needless to say, the offending wisher lasted about another 5 minutes after that. They buried the deck and left the area in great haste.
