| YumikoKitsune09-15-05, 09:13 PM | Requesting opinions: My Pixie character recently drew the Knight from the Deck of Many Things, granting it the service of a fourth level fighter of the same race as me. Since the pixie is a 4 level adjustment character, should it simply be a 4th level fighter with no actual pixie abilities or level adjustment-granted bonuses, or should it be a ECL 8 pixie fighter, adding four levels of fighter to the Pixie as described in the Monster Manual? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. |
| Molitor09-15-05, 10:18 PM | As your DM I would give you a pixie out of the MM, but I'd change it's feats. Like maybe weapon focus or weapon finesse, something "fighterish". |
| BlaineTog09-15-05, 11:17 PM | I'd give you a human fighter 4, because a pixie fighter of any level is a bit ridiculous, and the DoMT is an artifact. |
| Rutibex09-15-05, 11:25 PM | I'd give you a human fighter 4, because a pixie fighter of any level is a bit ridiculous, and the DoMT is an artifact. A 4th level Pixie Fighter could kick the ass of any 4th level human Fighter. Where I DM I would give you a 4th level Pixie Fighter, just like it says. You risked perminate death drawing from that deck, you should get a good reward. |

If you, as a DM who permitted his players to draw from the Deck of Many Things, are worried about the balance of inserting a fourth level fighter into the game, that of all the possible cards that could be drawn from the deck, a little bit of extra power to the Knight card is what really has you in balance!worries, you shouldn't be using the Deck to begin with. A pixie Ftr4 is a pixie with four levels of fighter, no matter how you slice it. Just tell your DM to be happy that the card doesn't give you a rogue instead, or that the card didn't permanently remove you from existence, or that the card didn't provide you with a castle, or that the card didn't sic a dread wraith (and most likely others for each party member) on you, or that the card didn't give you a game-breaking item, or that . . . |

| Vaalingrade Ashland09-16-05, 01:15 AM | DoMT was designed for that. I'd let you choose from LA +0 races. Otherwise, what do you do when the Maralith draws a Knight? |
| Yak of Darkness09-16-05, 01:29 AM | Otherwise, what do you do when the Maralith draws a Knight?Give the marilith the service of another of her kind, with four levels of fighter. |

| Vaalingrade Ashland09-16-05, 01:43 AM | Give him a Marilith 4th level fighter cohort. :P I won't argue with your ruling as a DM, but there's something wrong with this sentence. ;) |
