Those of you who are a fan of "Who Wants To Be a Superhero" will be happy to know the Defuser, candidate for winner, is a D&D player admitted in the Feedback aftershow!

DO NOT WATCH THE AFTERSHOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE LAST EPISODE!

Now how many expected the 240 pound well over 6 foot Police Officer to be a fellow D&D gamer?

I think that it's cool myself. Considering trying out the next time the game goes on.

Might be fun.

09-07-07, 12:40 AM Well... the fact that the guy is into comic books enough to try out for and be accepted to the 'Who wants to be a Superhero' show is a pretty good indicator that his 'Geekatude' is solid, and he might be into D&D.

So no, I'm not surprised. :P

Yeah but it's still kind of cool to hear. He was one of the heroes I was really rooting for.

Although I thought this second season was less impresive then the first. I thought the canadates were less intresting on a whole... and less well thought out. Which surprised me. Presumably they had all watched the first season themselves, you think they would have been BETTER.

I didnt see all the first season, but it definitely had its moments. Fat Momma was awesome. Ty'Veculus had a cool back story (I read after I saw the show)

But that's beside the point of me posting this thread. :P

I think it's cool to know that there are others out there who like to play D&D who want to be the hero. Too many I know want to play because they want an audience for their lamenting, or they want to live out their darker desires through a character, or pad their ego.

I play to be a hero.

There is another thread I have been taking part in, that is discussing playing evil characters and good characters and whatnot. About 9 out of 10 of my characters are good... and about half of those are UBER good, as in big time high heroic fantasy good.

Thats what I like about D&D... a clasic, epic sense of good vs evil... the idea that you can pick up a sword and oppose dark forces that are seemingly beyond your ability to fathoom... and you can prevail.

Sadly... I see less and less of my style of gameplay these days... and more and more 'Lets go out, kill some people and/or monsters, take their stuff... sell it... by really cool stuff... rinse, wash, repeat.'

09-07-07, 03:10 AM I dont hate the kill things and get stuff players as much as the pycho players and the emo players. The pervert players can be nasty, if they are truly perverted and not just joking around and having fun.

09-07-07, 11:49 AM It's cool the Defuser plays D&D. Another surprise player is Vin Diesel. He said in an interview he plays a Dark Elf and had his character's name as a fake tattoo on his stomach in the movie XXX.
