The reason I'm asking is my DM is saying it doesn't.And I'm not the only one in the group. We have a fighter with a ring of sustanance(helps any class). And I'm tired of taking nonlethal damage for not drinking water. And no the desert isn't an anti-magic zone cause our Wizard keeps trying to kill us with cone of cold.(Thinking of using the wizard as a tent pole  :plotting: ).She says it will help to keep us cool. |

As for the wizard trying to keep the party cool by a cone of cold thats just nonsense. Tell you what grapple her PC and reneder her useless while informing her that you are just trying to keep your technique fresh. |

I was under the assumption that dehydration happened when one wasn't getting enough water (such as sweating too much while not drinking enough) so I'd say that it would prevent it. After all, I believe the effect is that it keeps you fed, watered, and rested without you having to do any of those things, much the same as the ring of sustinance would do. Not sure what your DM is thinking. Side: While the tattoo(or the ring) makes it so you don't need it, that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy it. Saw a post once saying that having the ring of sus. meant you couldn't eat/drink and that's just silly. |

The ice that forms on it can be used to keep you cool. Come to think of it, you might even be able to use that ice to create some water. Wait! Better idea! Have the Wizard use a Cone of Cold into a barrel, bag, backpack, etc. and let the ice melt. Instant water, not much, but it's still something. |
