Design Wired.com logo like a Dungeon [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-05-08, 07:17 PM Come on all you budding dungeon builders and cartographers to help Wired.com design a D&D Dungeon inspired logo.

As a former D&D player, I was saddened by the passing of Gary Gygax earlier this week. So at the suggestion of fellow nerd Kevin Poulsen, I'm paying tribute to the original dungeon master in the best way I know how: by creating a dungeon. Out of the Wired.com logo.

The result isn't pretty, and it's far from playable, but hey, it's been a long time since my role-playing days. That's why Wired.com is inviting you to create your own Dungeons & Dragons-themed Wired logos and submit them here.

If we can sneak it past the higher-ups, we'll put our favorite D&D-themed, Gygax-tribute Wired logo in place of the usual logo right on the top of Wired.com. And no, we're not automatically publishing the top vote-getter, but we will take your votes into consideration in picking the winner. So get out your graph paper and start sketching.

03-06-08, 07:28 AM Only because I started playing in 1978, I must confess that I like the hand drawn version better. It represents the first two-thirds of my gaming years.

P.S. Chris, you keep hours my two-kid-having self could not survive.

03-06-08, 07:04 PM I am a greybeard as well, so my votes were for the hand-drawn look of Level 4A and Wired Playable Dungeon.

I think those fit Gygax more than the more "computerized" looks of the others.

I may submit one as well.

03-07-08, 12:45 AM I haven't done the dungeon yet, but this one poped in my head and I had to put it out there. I know it looks like a 10 year old drew it, but I loved the idea, I just can't draw on a computer very well :( .

It just that we have a forum for this kinda thing and no one knows about it. It could be a really cool section of the boards if people knew about it and went there.
