Sup?

Any fans of the Diablo2 Expansion (D2X) PC game in here??
I'm a big fan, and have been playing it for years. I've never seen a game that is so edictive and with as much replayability.

Anyway, WotC published some pen-and-paper D2X products a while back, and actually converted the rules into DnD 3e !!.

I want to know if anyone has ever tried the pen-and-paper products, and if they are any good.

The products : Diablo 2: Diablerie , Diablo 2: To Hell and Back, Diablo 2 The Awakening.

11-17-05, 09:04 AM I believe that when compared to the regular D&D stuff, they were grossly overpowered.

But in a self-contained environment, they worked fine.

11-17-05, 10:59 AM Do they have rules on hacking your character to instantly be level 99?Plenty of DMs are happy to allow players to start the game with mid-to-high level characters instantly powerful without any of the drawbacks and sacrifices that would normally be required in the process of accomplishing such a build. As such, I am sure some DM somewhere has allowed a player to start with a level 99 uber build god-killer.

11-18-05, 04:13 AM I created my own version of diablo2 expansion , using the same seven classes, but I modified the rules to DnD. It's a much simpler version than the one WotC created.

In my version, the maximum level reached is 30th.
Skills are gained every 5 lvls ( instead of every 6 ), until 20th. The maximum number of skill points is 10 ( instead of 20 ).

I think this tones things down a bit ( lvl 99 is just silly , imo ).

11-18-05, 12:15 PM While I do have the products, I have yet to play them yet. However, they follow the style of D&D in that the highest level is level 20. In case you are wondering why the products may not have done so well, it may be that at the time they were published D&D was transitioning from AD&D to D&D 3.0. So if you ever find the products at a game store, remember that the Diablerie and To Hell and Back are 3.0 and The Awakening is AD&D 2nd.
