| seraphimpunk10-02-06, 01:14 PM | So i checked out the Dungeon Delve article and i'm looking forward to next week's post with the monsters so i can re-create the delve for my group since none of us went to gencon. I like the idea of the dice expressions, reducing the 20d4 from a breathweapon or 10d6 fireball etc, but i'm not sure i get the entirety of the 'formula' the 1/3 dice, 2/3 constant. maybe if they can give example dice pools and what they would be equivalent to? ( hypothetically: ) 10d8 ... 2d8 + 30 10d6 ... 2d6 + 25 10d4 ... 2d4 + 15 for 10d6, does it just mean the roll is 10 to 60, with an average of 35 so 1/3 of the 35 is dice, and 2/3 is constant? 1/3 of 35 being about 2d6 (12 pts ) 2/3 of 35 being about + 25 ( 25 pts , 12 + 25 = 37, close to 35 ) does this sound right? Just tryng to figure it out so i can use it in my own games which aren't quite epic yet, but some 10th+ games i run can use this double plus good dice math. |
