What's the difference between Dragon magazine and Dungeon magazine? Which would you recommend subscribing to?

The difference between a Dungeon and a Dragon is that, once inside, you at least have a chance of escaping from the first one. ;)

Serioulsy though, it really depends on what ou want/nee for you r gaminig. Dungeon is all adventures, Dragon is a general D&D mag lots of rules stuff, classes, races, etc. and no adventures.

Dragon is more geared towards players, while Dungeon is for DMs. If you're a player Dungeon is a waste of your money. If your a DM who doesn't have a lot of time to make up adventures get Dungeon, as that is the lion's share of the content. Dragon has prestige classes, play advice, feats, Sage Advice, etc. Useful to DM and player alike.

After the Recent reformat of both magazines the difference is even more pronounced.

Dungeon has 3 adventures per issue, one low, medium, and High leveld. It also contains a few columns geared towards DM's and the art of Dungeoncraft.

Dragon is for Players and DM's alike, with emphasis on Classes, Races, feats, Skills, Magic spells and items. The Sage Advice column also graces the pages of Dragon. You can also find articles for D&D Mini's, new RPG video games coming out and how they can be used in D&D (translated to feats, monsters or items).

I'm still getting used to the new Dragon, but I absolutely LOVE the new dungeon! I've been a subscriber to both for over a decade.

So then, if we had to choose it'd be Dragon, eh? I really want the NPC stats of famous characters...I like to see them in the flesh. Thx.

I'm from Spain and the spanish version of Dragon plainly sucks (there's no Dungeon). We get an issue each two or three months, with translated articles from a year ago that talk about things that are still coming out here. I first seen the ECSB in a store the other day, and nobody says a word about the XPH, at least during 2004. So no psionics in the Dragon here, and they even first mention Eberron in the last issue, coming out this weekend. Thus, no printed sources for my two D&D passions.

So, is there a way I can suscribe online to 'Dragon' magazine? Or maybe an adress to write asking for information?

There's a website. I think its Paizo.com or something like that. I don't think they do overseas subscriptions. You can purchase back issues, though.

As to the original question, Dragon is for all D&D gamers, Dungeon is for DMs.

Paizo.com is correct. There's supposed to be an international subscription, so if you can't find one on our website contact customer service and let them know you want one. :)

I'm certainly not going to prevent you from subscribing to Dragon, but I should point out that providing NPC stats is something we generally try to avoid. Now, we have run NPC stats in the past, but don't expect to see much more of that in the future.
