Yep- really enjoy Wizards overall, but when it comes to DM screens- what gives?

No weapons charts (damage, etc.)...(all third ed. screens have been like that with the exception of the forgoten realms one)

...and loads o' unneccessary stuff- like long-winded charts on weapon sizes, etc.

Do gamers make these up?

That & the 'deluxe character sheets' always make me scratch my head and wonder if there is truly a market out for them (my answer is yes, as I did pay $10 several years ago for the 3e DM screen. :nonono: )

My screen was free 9Dragon subscription) so I'm not complaining. I find that I tend to use the screens as a screen and not a reference chart anyway.

It wouldn't kill WotC to put up a poll area on their site about "What tables would you most like to see in a DM screen?" and literally publish 3 different screens for the 3 most popular arrays of screens. I dunno, if their web tech support guy was real keen on it, he could make a flash interface where you literally pick your tables and where they go; then WotC can just go through some printing company and send you your customized screen. Hell, you could even choose your image on the front.

It's times like these in which I feel smart.

This is why a Laptop makes the best GM Screen ^_^

I haven't really DMed for 3rd...but in 2nd, I made my own DM screen, with the charts *I* wanted.

The 3.0 screen was ok, the FR 3.0 was the best, the v.3.5 screen was a money grab. Besides, I already had the v.3.5 screen from when I purchased Dragon magazine, #310 I believe.

Yes....I am rather happy with my 3.5 screen from Dragon mag. I use that in conjunction with my Dragonlance DM screen, and its really all the info I need in front of me....the rest isnt really a hassle to look up.

Agreed. The Dragonlance v.3.5 screen was worth the money(It has information on it that is relevant to the Dragonlance campaign setting.) . The default v.3.5 screen I have was a bonus screen I received with my magazine. I see no reason however to go out and buy yet another default 3.5 screen when I already have the v.3.5 screen.
