Distilled Joy (the spell) [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-27-03, 10:03 AM Distill Joy is clearly presented as a opposite to the BoVD's Liquid Pain. My issue with the spell is that it describes various sources for the spell, such as an artist creating his masterpiece or a person experiencing " a moment of undiluted sexual pleasure". As for that latter, did the authors recall that the casting time is "1 day"? That doesn't mean spending a day casting the spell, then at the end finding someone who is experiencing joy. It means having someone in a state of such joy for 24 hours, casting the spell the entire time. That, at least, is how Monte has explained how Liquid Pain is cast, which also has a 1 day casting time. Experiencing said sexual pleasure for 24 hours seems unrealistic, downright painful in fact.

Very silly.

I think "sexual pleasure" in this case would be better replaced by "erotic pleasure". Basically, your tube of distilled joy begins filling when the couple sees eachother, fills up a little quicklier when tehy get to dancing... when they start the foreplay it begins filling quicklier, as theyr action grows more and more pationate, you get more and more cc/hour {:eek:}, and the highest rate when they orgasm. Then the tube still keeps filling up during afterplay and relaxation, and if they fall asleep in eachother's arms, you still keep getting distilled pleasure from them.

10-28-03, 07:40 AM I think the important question to ask is, why the heck would some couple let a crotchity, dodgy old wizard watch them "get off the good foot and do the bad thing" (Austin Powers) and cast a spell while they were, consumating the happiness.

I love the idea of the spell, but the mechanics need to be clarified a little for us immature little boys who love to make bad jokes about such things :P

For the latter part, I suspect we should dispense with 'line of effect' and let them cast the spell outside the couple's door. Also, I imagine there'd be a decent chance to catch some of the pleasure in their dreams afterwards.

No, no, no... perverts don't need to justify their voyeurism. Giving them ideas on how to do so is like giving someone basic advice on breathing.
