What's the person yo've ever heard of that's a DM? I know a 14 year old and his players tell me that he's really good.

I started DMing at 13, and I was not good. It took me about a year to really get things down. My brother tried, once, at age 10. It didn't go well, and he never tried again.

I started (along time ago) at age 11. Was I any good? By my current standards? No. But I was great within the 10-12 year old bracket. And that's all that counts as those were the people I had to please back then.... :)

i also started at age 10-12. ive come a long, long way since those days. based on my own experiences i dont believe anyone can be a great DM without at least several years' experience under their belt and without being at least mid-late teens. that said, however, im glad to hear there are some young'uns doing well. have to bring up the next generation after all.

I started DMing back about age 9. Good? Nah, but I got better with age.

My 6-year-old is putting together his own adventures and whatnot already. He'll make a grand DM one of these days.

I'm gonna start withing the next few weeks. I already ran a few one-shots for my bro and his friends, they didn't complain but they are younger than me (I'm 14), I think i could use some work, like trying to remember where my notes are, and my templated BBEG (BBEG stand for Big Bad Evil Girl(I try to be fair, plus most of my players are gonna be girls)) I don't think either of my parents ever DM'd in the campaign they played back in AD&D...

I started DMing when I was 14 or so, I think, but I tried to before...

In this 15 years of playing and DMing I have made a lot of mistakes, but I have learned a lot, and I think that now I'm not a bad DM... nor a good one, but I still have time for learning :P

The main thing is getting started... ;)

And the people with who I play keep coming to play with me, so I suppose I must do something well

I started DMing when I was 13 for my older brother and his buddies.

I went from no prep, to over prep, to finally somewhere in between.

I find it best when the DM is between 21-30+ this brings with it a maturity that holds the group together(hopefully)

I started DMing at 14. Tuesday will mark the 26th anniversary of my first set, the pink-box Basic Set back in '81. I still have it! (I even still have some of the dice that came with it, those really light-weight plastic ones that you had to color the numbers in with the crayon they provided.)

Well I am using this summer to prepare a role play. I am 13 years. I must say that I suck a bit but otherwise it goes pretty well.

I started when I was twelve with the third edition box set, cardboard counters and all. At first it was all save the unicorn captured by goblins and look at my uber dmnpc. But, like everyone else has said, with experience comes skill.

I started when I was...25-26. But then, considering I never had exposure to D&D til I graduated high school, and never played regularly til I was 23...

I am a late D&D bloomer :P

I remember the first game I DMed. It was for my older brother and his friend... it didn't work out too well.

I started DMing at age 14, I'm 41 now and haven't gone more than a year without a campaign.

A truer statement has yet to be spoken upon this planet.

Take care, friend.

I know the feeling. Didn't get into it until I was 19 (5 years ago) But I remember looking for games JUST like it.

Without ever hearing of D&D I thought about a board game "Where everyone had different strengths and abilities". I was destined and it took me 19 years to get to it. DAMN I'm lazy.

I'm 14 and I think I'm not horrible but neither very good, Since I'm too lazy to actually right the campaign somewhere instead of planing while we are playing:D

the trick to that is to write the key points down as you play, that way when you go back you can repeat things people may have forgotten or remember which NPC told what to the players should they run across them again, as well as where the players have been and what happened in that area.

makes it fun to read after the game is over or been going a good while like a book. also lets you see what the characters are enjoying most and what they aren't ;)

That would make things easier than writing down the whole story:)

Also my players love horror, parania and all things and related (and anime that is not related) so I use Heroes of Horror, Libris Mortis and Lords of Madness. Any other suggestions?
