Mad_Jack 04-16-08, 01:15 AM	It's called a DM's screen - it doesn't come with the DMG, but there's tons of different versions out there from dozens of companies. In addition to shielding the DM's notes and dice-rolling from players' eyes, most of them also have a lot of the most commonly needed charts and tables printed on the inside for quick reference...

Auspex7 04-16-08, 01:37 AM	walk into game store. grab the guy behind the register by the throat. this is a universal sign for "i am a serious customer". next, prepare any magic or items you have that will allow you to read his surface thoughts, and ask him where you might find game screens. he'll probably be scared of you, so odds are good that he'll be honest. if he lies, shout threateningly at him, and make sure he knows you were using magic to read his mind (don't clarify that it was just his surface thoughts. let the fear be complete!). next, lift him towards the ceiling with one hand, and punch him in the junk with the other hand. finally, wash your punching hand with soap and hot water (srub for no less than 30 seconds!) to avoid cooties. in summation: any game shop should have them

There are quite a few listed, including an official 3.5 dm screen... They're not absolutely necessary to play, but they can be pretty handy when you need to reference things quickly...

The "inside info" is always relevant to the campaign; geographical info, important NPC's, etc. Plus, I can choose what quick reference mechanics I want printed. [shrug] So much cheaper. ;)

UndeadMouse 04-16-08, 07:03 PM	Borders sells the WOTC ones, though they usually don't carry a lot in stock, so if you need it now you might have to visit a few to find them. Do not send cardstock through your printer/copier if it is the kind that bends the paper. I did this once to make some buisness cards and my printer made a sound like a cat was going through the thing instead of some cardstock. Wasn't even that thick either. Just tape or glue paper printouts of your info onto blank cardstock instead. Or you could use a laptop. Just put it on your lap so it doesn't block the view too much.
