| gwiber04-18-07, 01:28 AM | A question for you real deep DnD history buffs who know your products. I'm on the hunt for a vaguely remembered module form 2nd Edition. I remember it coming some time about the time I was either a senior in high school, or was just out of high school. I got out of High School in 1991. It was a very high end module. Something about a Lich trying to become a demi-l;ich through a very odd process. His body had transformed and bloated up to a massive insect-queen like undead creature. I seem to recall he was infested with .. Lichlings? I guess. And you had to basically dungeon crawl his body to stop him. His body and the surrounding area had doorways across multiple planes in it. Is this enough info? Does it ring a bell to ANYONE? I remember there was a poster sized map that came with it. This thing just disappeared one night when I attempted to run it the first time. I haven't seen it since. |

| gwiber04-19-07, 01:21 AM | *shameless, but hopeful bump* |
| johnkretzer04-19-07, 02:15 AM | I don't remeber much about modules as I rarely buy them...but to help other do you remember the cover at all? |
| AlphaDrone04-19-07, 03:40 AM | I think it might be "Return to the Tomb Of Horrors" too. It features a demi-lich called Acererak, is for characters levels 13-16 too. However, like Jinnetics said, the timing is a bit off... Return to the Tomb Of Horrors was in 1998. Do you remember the cover at all? I have many modules- I'd be happy to look for you. |

The only things I remember where a think I swear called a Lichling, that looked much like a chasme I guess. It was a large grasshopper looking creature with a skeletons head instead of a normal one, and one of the corridors opened into what appeared to be totally open sky. The walls were some kind of glassteel glass that you could not actually see, only feel. (the open door to this area led directly to the plane of Air) I remember the group wizard sending his Golem he had constructed into the corridor because there was some kind of saving throw the whole group kept failing that prevented them from going into the hallway. The golem went about halfway down. and felt a T intersection in the corridor and turned around to go down that corridor. Because of the nature of the turn. the wizard lost sight of it. even though he should have been able to see it easily through the walls. The golem walked down the corridor, and bumped into the door at the end (couldn't see it). The door was trapped, at the end of the corridor where it had turned the alll opened up invisibly and fired several glassteel rods down at the door, which it of course could not see, and could not avoid. I recall they were devastating enough to outright destroy the golem. I seem to remember one of the branches off the glassteel corridor led straight into a room with lava on the floor and fire in the air(it had led into the plane of fire) Things Like THAT I remember mostly, this was the era when anything DnD came out. I bought. I could afford it. I bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff in just two years back then, it all blurs together constantly. This is the only thing that sticks out that makes me wanna know what it was though. I guess I could google lichling... |
| gwiber04-19-07, 08:07 AM | The most distinctive, perhaps, thing; is that much if not all of the dungeon crawl itself, took place INSIDE the bloated remains of the Lick itself. who was trying to become a Demilich. That and the little bug things with the skeleton faces. I recall them being ABLE to come in swarms, and that that was something to watch out for. And that they were pretty strong in and of themselves, just a few were a match for the party. That their was real danger of having a massive swarm of these things attack and just wipe the party out. |
| Bob Loblaw04-19-07, 09:45 AM | I don't know which module it was either, but here is a good sized list to all the modules from TSR: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dungeons_&_Dragons_modules Hope this helps. |
