To anyone who has the DnD Movie II DVD, in the Arc special feature with Gary Gygax, they briefly show on screen character writeups for the characters from the movie. I was wondering if anyone knows where you can see the full writeups for these characters as I am really interested to see the game stats for everyone from the movie. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this.

This is just a WAG, but have you tried the Sci-Fi channel's forums?

I tried to search through their forums and couldn't find anything. To be honest I didn't even know full writeups had been done until they flashed them on the DVD special features. Now I am trying to find those full writeups because I want to see how the characters from the movie were statted out.

I don't have a DVD ROM, so I guess it could be on that but I don't believe they are.

I spent significant time trying to find those... there is an adventure on the DVD... but they are not there.

Anyway, out of frustration I wrote to WoTC... not only do they NOT have the rights to the characters, they also do not have the rights to the story. Thus unless the movie distributor elects to release this information you will not be getting the stats, nor will a module of the movie be printed.

There is an adventure on the DVD ROM, "The Servant of Decay" which is the dungeon, "Malak's Vault" from the movie... I'll have to let you know if its good or not... haven't DM'd it yet :D

Sucks big horse hockey, let me tell ya. :( The movie was a bit improvement over the first though! :D

When I heard they were trying to make a module of the first movie I laughed and laughed.

Personally, Id make up the stats for the characters myself. Rather than play a Game, thats based on a Movie, thats based on a Game...

The DVD featurette does in fact provide full character stats for the adventuring party as well as Melora, and gives a pretty thorough backstory on Damodar as well (but no stats, sadly). If you get the DVD, you can pause it and see all of this stuff easily. Obviously, posting them verbatim here would run afoul of copyright issues, but fair use dictates that I can give some interesting details for those who were wondering.

The adventuring party were all 7th level characters, with the exception of Ormaline, the elven wizard, who was a 9th level wizard. Melora, on the other hand, was Wiz 4/Clr 1.

This was all a total surprise to me, as I had decided from my initial viewing of the movie that the characters must have been in the 14-15 range. The biggest issue was that Dorian, the cleric of Obad-Hai, was turning/destroying what looked like spectres, making him appear at least level 14 (or at least level 10 if they were wraiths). Of course, this would have made the whole battle with the white dragon even more unlikely than it would with him being level 7, since at level 14 he wouldn't have died to a single blast of frost breath. Dorian's ability to destroy the spectres and the ease with which the party dispatched such a large dragon were the only big statistical problems in the movie.

There were a few other curiosities in the stats, which I'll list below.

They state that Ormaline is a level 9 elf wizard. Since teleport was the highest level spell she uses, that's the minimum level she could be, of course. But her intelligence was only 19, not enough to get a bonus 5th-level spell, so it was impossible for her to have prepared two teleport spells. They get around this by giving her a level 5 pearl of power to make the extra casting of teleport available.

They have Melora cast Vision, a 7th level wizard spell, which would ordinarily make her level 13 at minimum. They got around this restriction by giving her a Necklace of Visions. She summons the magmin using Summon Monster II, and while magmins aren't in the list of summonable creatures, they are 2 HD outsiders.

Beren is a +15 character (meaning his natural stat bonuses add up to an impressive +15). On top of that, he's wearing gauntlets of ogre power. I plan to mention this soon to my friend that plays a fighter with +5 in bonuses who's been cranky about that for the past 12 levels. ;) Beren also has a +1 vorpal longsword and apparently a d20 with all 20's on it, since he's constantly chopping right through things with it.

Hope this helps :)
