07-11-07, 12:35 PM I guess the real question I'm trying to ask is, why haven't we heard of it ever? I get that it exists elsewhere and all that, but anything that had been set to appear in the ECS and didn't ended up either appearing in a later supplement, or was at least discussed somewhere.

I've played in Eberron for years and I've never even HEARD of these things! Do they have an *established* place in Eberron (yeah, I know everything has a place, but I mean an official, established place)?

The picture was in with the other monster pics, so it obviously was going to be in the Monsters section of the ECS. You'll notice its next to two other monsters that never made it all the way into the ECS, the Tribex and the Dragonhawk. The horrid wolf picture didn't make it into the ECS, and neither did the Warforged Charger.

The fact that a type of Warforged that got art commissioned for it didn't make it into the ECS, not so much as a mention of them, and you shouldn't be surprised that what amounts to a random monster not getting mentioned should crop up.

07-11-07, 09:17 PM If memory serves, I think someone who worked on the book said that the nycter picture got in there by mistake. It was never even meant to be in the ECS.
