| Olidammara08-27-07, 12:58 AM | i'm having trouble with my character expansion. i've reached a level i've never gotten to before, i know what i want to to with the character, but i just cant find anything that'll let me. here's teh basic story of what's happened so far. i'm a lyrendar bard who wanted to be a windwright. i repaired a busted old ship carrying millions worth in dragonshards, finished its delivery to lyrendar HQ (the dragonshards were being delivered), they gave me the ship and a crew and a "we love you, if you ever need anything, let us know". i've since gone adventuring, gotten all the way up in windwright pilot, making me bard 7, windwright 5. i just recently spotted an army of constructs coming in from the plane of order, told lyrendar hq so they could have to glory. they let me lead the attack, we won, barely, lyrendar has gotten HUGE renown, i'm a hero, and i've been promoted to comadore, and given a brand new warship. oh, and between, i did ravenloft, and then made it into a play when i got back, and everyone recognizes me in sharn. i'm a celebrity. so, now that i've maxed out windwright, accomplishing my goal, i have nothing left. i'm a huge success, and i've done everythign i wanted. i'd like to find another prestige class that will let me become a better leader or better pilot, but the problem is, the dm doesnt use npc's for player allies in combat, so for instance, my crew doesnt fight, they lose a d6 number of people per round, as apposed to the enemie's d6. controlling people isnt a problem that way, so stuff like legendary captain seems useless. i'm so lost, please help me get ideas. |

| DrunkMonk09-04-07, 03:53 AM | we had a character in our group that was in the same possition as your half-elf. He did get to use his cohort as an NPC under his control in combat, but his crew and followers were all experts or expert/warriors. anyway, he was a Bard 4/swashbuckler 1/storm sentry 2, windwright captain 5. He had a greater mark of storm, caster level of 7, bab of 9, and lots of goodies. he was a great character and one of the few guys that our group rallied around as a leader. The point is he went back into Storm Sentry after 12th level. It is a good class and has alot in common with WWC. DM |
