Not sure if this has been asked before, but the "Dragonmarked Sorcerer" feat from Dragon issue #351 seems to allow access to the Heir of Siberys prestige class and vise versa.

Obviously, Heir of Siberys wouldn't be able to take the feat into account since it was written earlier, but the exclusionary language in it's prerequisites mentions certain specific feats. You can't take Heir of Siberys if you have any of the following feats: Aberrant Dragonmark, Greater Dragonmark, Least Dragonmark, or Lesser Dragonmark. It doesn't just say "can't already have a dragonmark" which would exclude all current and future possible ways to get a dragonmark.

However, "Dragonmarked Sorcerer" has it's own exclusionary text, and indicates that once you take the feat, you can't take any of those feats either. It also retcons those feats by saying that if you have any of those, you can't take Dragonmarked Sorcerer.

What it doesn't say is "Once you take this feat, you cannot gain levels in the Heir of Siberys prestige class, nor may you take this feat if you already have levels in it."

So is it possible for Dragonmarked Sorcerers to be the only House members to have all 4 marks of the house? 3 through their sorcerous spellcasting, and then the Siberys Mark? Or was the Heir of Siberys prestige class merely overlooked and this was never the design intent?

I realize this is probably an old issue, but I've just introduced a dragonmarked sorcerer NPC to the party and have taken a good look at the feat only just now. My apologies if this was answered before but I couldn't find anything relevant with searching.

By RAW, it may be possible. But any DM that allows that should be shot with the proverbial hammer.

When taking Dragonmarked Sorcerer, you develop a dragonmark. Heirs of Siberys do not have one before getting the big one. The two things exclude themselves.

But can you be a sorceror who becomes an Heir of Siberys? Withouth being a 'dragonmarked sorceror'?

Sure. The only thing that Heir of Siberys requires is 15 ranks in two skills, Heroic Spirit, and not having any of the dragonmark feats in the ECS, by raw. It even advances spellcasting for two levels.

HoS is actually a halfways decent PrC for a Sorcerer. The only real cost involved is taking the Heroic Spirit feat and delaying your spellcasting by one level.

Heroic Spirit gives you more action points, right? That's perfect for many feats from Dragonmarked that rely on spending APs to activate the effects.
