But I was recently told that a Warforged Artificer would be the way to go. I have no idea what an artificer does and I don't want to buy the Eberron core book only to find out that they suck. What is an Artificer and what can they do. |

| Salla08-19-07, 05:25 PM | The artificer is 'the builder'. They specialize in making magic items; they can also serve as trapfinders. As far as their 'quality', well, Artificers are regularly listed in 'top 5 class' polls, frequently right behind the Cleric and Druid. |

Actually, some times before any of them. It is my firm belief (and not only my own) that a prepared artificer can overcome any challenge and any adversary. The trick is that, since you rely so heavily on magic items, being a 'prepared artificer takes a whole lot more forethought than for any other class. |

A cleric or druid can swap their spells ever day. Your magic item collection takes more time to tweak. |

They trade the ability to quickly overcome a foe for flexibility. But where the Wizard only has to plan 1 day ahead, the Artificer has to plan weeks or months ahead. |
