There's no rule that says you can't have more than one.

It's just a bad idea to have more than one or two, given the potentially lethal penalty you'll pay if multiple homonculi die at the same time.

The Lord of Blades has two. I'd say that's a pretty good precedent to go by.

Also, in addition to what Kid Six said, it costs too much gold and XP to upgrade multiple homunculi (unless one of them is a Dedicated Wright, which never really needs to be upgraded).

I've seen a couple of discussions about house rules that allow a percentage of craft reserve to be used to upgrade a homonculus, but I've never playtested it.

Didn't look game breaking on paper, but you never can tell unless you field test it yourself.

Check edy's guide to artificiers, there's a build there that focuses on building homunculi. I run a hoardificier (the build that makes lots o' homunculi) it works pretty well except for that i have barely any gold or feats to spare. planning on getting an iron golem at lvl 16.

thank you to all. i've forgotten the lord of blades. however i think i'm going to upgrade only one of them. the other is useful for item creation :P .

bye bye....:D
