Jonasty 05-21-07, 12:25 PM	According to the rules, it says that changelings can alter themselves as the Disguise self spell only just themselves etc. Reading the spell description it sounds like you can adjust yourself slightly, i.e. a little height or weight, skin color, maybe horns or something with blue hair, etc. Now it seems to state with this that you cannot change your size category with this spell, which would make sense cause its a low level spell to jack yourself to Large size and get the bumps inherrent in that as a fighter-type etc. My question/problem is this. If the size remains unchanged i.e. a changeling is always Medium, does that preclude them from ever mimicing a gnome or halfling? Being 2 of the COMMON races, you would think they could pull this off. Now I know you could say that well, they're very tall examples of the race or something, I just want to verify with people if I read this right and opinions, as I currently have not allowed a changeling PC to change into a kobold to infiltrate an enemy encampment for just this reason. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Your interpretation is correct. Barring class features/feats/whatever of which I am unaware, a Changeling cannot change its size category. You could LOOK like a tall gnome, but that's kinda a give-away. It makes Gnomes somewhat more trustworthy, since they cannot be easily imitated by Changelings. This handily balances out the fact that they are Gnomes, and would gladly metaphorically stab you in the back at the drop of a secret.
