| sorreahdarkhart05-01-07, 04:21 AM | I work on character creation as a sidebar for fun, and I was wondering if a changeling reality-seeker would be inclined to take up the swordsage class from ToB. Regardless of speculation, I'm also curious as to where she'd get swordsage training from. I figure that crusaders and warblades are most likely to be found in Thrane or Valenar respectively, but I'm unsure as to where swordsages would likely come from. |

| JulesCARV05-01-07, 06:17 AM | Adar! |
| Hideous Phidias05-01-07, 06:19 AM | Aundair is known for their swordsmen. Karrnath also has a long military tradition. The thing is due to the Last War there would be ToB classes all over Khorvaire. But for a changling I would go with Aundair. Maybe make her a part of the Royal Eyes, and not because she is a changling but in spite of it. Changling are the type of characters that watch people due to the way other view them. Like the way a person who has served in the military always looks the people and lay out of a room they enter weighing things in their mind. |
| OneWinged4ngel05-02-07, 12:35 AM | I developed a secret sword style of the Shulassakar swordsages, the yuan-ti-like heirs of the feathered serpents themselves who gave their lives to end the Age of Demons. Essentially, all I did was change up Desert Wind style to be half-sacred damage (much like Flame Strike) to change it to a Silver Flame style ;) ___ In any case, Swordsages could come from just about any source you can think of... Just be creative :) |
| Splendide05-02-07, 01:23 AM | Swordsages come from Korranberg, of course. The Martial Philosophy department houses some of the most instructive texts on exotic combat styles in all of Khorvaire! Not that most fighters would know, because which fighters would think to go to a library in Zilargo to learn how to fight anyway? |
| Cifer05-02-07, 08:21 AM | Generally, swordsagery can come from about everywhere (100 years of war means there will be a lot of people learning how to fight). The more interesting question is where the specific disciplines come from. So what disciplines would you like to have? |
| sorreahdarkhart05-03-07, 12:03 AM | Although I picked my maneuvers already, I went with Diamond Mind as the dominating discipline. Since she has an incredibly high Dex (I rolled a 17. If there's one thing I'll do when I quit my job, it'll be to steal one their breakroom tables. I roll monster awesome on those.), I gave her Weapon Finesse, and cause I made her at level 4, Blade Meditation. Coincidentally, her Blade Meditation is also Diamond Mind. So which part of Khorvaire would have Diamond Mind focused individuals? |
| Cifer05-03-07, 08:32 AM | I'd place diamond mind either in some monastaries (probably run by Path of Light Kalashtar or Silver Flame monks) or directly at the changelings and doppelgangers. |
| TheAnthroDM05-03-07, 09:25 PM | Diamond mind? You seek Adar my friend. |
| Splendide05-04-07, 06:05 AM | Or Zilargo. |
| Cifer05-04-07, 06:43 AM | Or Zilargo. Nah, it's usually Zilargo that seeks (and finds) you. |
