Daelkyr Breeding? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-31-07, 09:57 PM Just like the heading says, how do you think new Daelkyr are born? The ECS says they are sexless, but that dosn't mean you still don't need two to breed. Or think one can give birth to another maybe once in it's lifetime? Or do you think there is a giant 'Mother Daelkyr' that births a new one when ones dies like the Dreaming Dark does in Dal Quor? Or, do you think they can't make more? Maybe they use the Mind Flayer way of a host body? I could go on for days... What do YOU think?

04-01-07, 12:01 AM My assumption was that they spontaneously generated from the raw chaos of their home plane. A lot of outsiders arise that way actually.

04-01-07, 09:37 PM I suspect there existence is metaphysically generated, like fiends in the traditional cosmology.
They are a function of part of the cosmos and come to exist spontaneously, with about as much justification as why the laws of gravity are what they are.

04-02-07, 07:48 AM Honestly, I see the "standard" daelkyr being spawned from some great and horrible elder-god-thing in Xoriat. However, this is not a disgusting, painful ordeal. It's an act of obscene and alien beauty, something that mortals dare not postulate on and gods shudder to think of. I mean, where do you think the little daelkyr got their love of creating from?
