You cannot enchant your mount's hooves or your riding dog's fangs directly, either, unless you jump through a few hoops. Provided the scarab counts as a natural weapon, Magic Fang and its friends could work on a temporary basis. I am not sure whether this works with permanency, but that might be a way. Possibly, a Kensai (Complete Warrior PrC) could chose the Throwing Scarab as his weapon of choice, since he can also enchant his fists. There are also magic items that allow you to add bonuses to natural weapons (Amulet of Mighty Fists, perhaps?). If you get your scarab to wear one, it might work. You could possibly invent your own variant of a Mind Blade Gauntlet, but that might require a bit of work as both player/DM and character (in the latter case, the Daelkyr might have done the work for you, though). That is all I can think of right now; one way of finding out more would be to make a search on how creatures can enchant natural weapons or how monks can enchant their fists. Of course, my entire answer relies on interpreting the Throwing Scarab as a natural weapon, which might or might not hold water. |

It would cost more (not much, maybe an extra 500-1,000g per enchant) to do, and require some time of initial research to be able to enchant that particular person's symbionts (since they're all grown from his flesh in the DHb case). That's how I'd do it. All house-rules, obv. |
