Is there an official Daelkyr out there who is associated with worms? I'm thinking of an Eberron proxy for Mak Thuum Ngatha, as described in Lords of Madness. Someone the Tsochari would most likely be in service to.

Thanks,

Well, generally, each and every one of them could just have created the entire race.

I think there are only like two or three daelkyr lords who've been named. The Stained One, the Lord of Eyes, and the Lord of Stone.

But you're free to create a new one. The Wormlord sounds like he'd be an awesome daelkyr lord.

Oh, you know there'd HAVE to be one somehow. Maybe even expand his portfolio a bit to include slimes, although there are fewer of those that are true Aberrations. For the Wormlord's minions/creations I'm thinking of course of such things as:

Tsochari
Psurlons
Wystes
Carrion Crawlers
Pseudonatural versions of wormlike monsters such as Purple Worms
Neothelids

and all that good stuff.

Pseudonatural phrenic hivemind leech swarm, anyone?

Remember, not all of the daelkyr's creations must be aberrations. It's just that the product of warped magical transmutation often ends up not being naturally possible.

4 Daeklyr have been named, three int he players guide to eberron and one in magic of eberron.

Which draws something to my attention, i might post this in my other forum to. PGTE says that Daelkry while trapped underground are free to move around in Khyber-however-The stained one is presented as heavily trapped imprissoned, with little ability to acess the outside world.

I take it his fate is unique amongst the Daelkyr?

Well, that makes oozes easier to work in, then.

The Crawling Potentate, Lord of Slime and Worms

Hmm...

Well... How "big" is Khyber?

I mean, if it's just one room, then yeah, they're all kinda hedged in...

:P

No hes quite literally trapped in a 20 by 20 room or something like that. (he being the stained one) but the pgte suggests this is not the fate of the other Daelkyr.

I've noted that discrepency before as well. I've also noted on several occassions that the various Daelkyr are rumored to be trapped beneath certain areas of Khorvaire indicating that they are at least not free to wander ANYWHERE they want in the under world. I personally like the idea of each one being trapped like the Stained One, so that is what I assume in my game (not that the PC's are coming into contact with Daelkyr after Daelkyr.) But the idea that the most powerful of the Lords had to be severly entombed like the Stained One, while the weaker ones still wander about in Khyber is workable as well.

On the other hand, I recall that the most powerful Daelkyr is named, and it is not the Stained One.

Edit: I just pulled this off of wikipedia. If the Lord of Stone was able to turn his prison into a gargoyle, it could explain how the Daelkyr were all impisoned, yet one is now able to wander Khyber. And also give a great hook for a very high level party - go stop the Lord of Stone.

Dyrrn
According to Gatekeeper legend, Dyrrn the Corruptor is the mightiest daelkyr. Dyrrn is responsible for the creation of dolgaunts and dolgrims. Dyrrn is believed to be trapped beneath the Eldeen Reaches.

Belashyrra
Also known as the Lord of Eyes, Belashyrra is said to have created beholders. It is said to have a chamber within its citadel covered in eyes, through which it can look through the eyes of any living creature.

Orlassk
Orlassk, the master of stone, is said to have made medusas, basilisks and other petrifying creatures. Orlassk's citadel is said to be a giant gargoyle formed from living rock that prowls the depths of Khyber.

Kyrzin
Kyrzin is a prince of slime and ooze who lives beneath the Shadow Marches. Kyrzin has created numerous types of oozes, including parasitic oozes that may control their host or burst from their host's flesh.

Ah, so slime is taken then. My Daelkyr wouldn't want to step on Kyrzin's toes, so it'll be limited to worms I guess.

I guess that makes 5 named DAelkry actually.

Still it says they can wander around Khyber-just that there fortress is in a specific spot... the stained one is stuck period.

Why is the Stained One...well, stained?

Does anyone have info on this dude?

Ya some info.

he was trapped in stone and found by his disciplines who built a fortress around him, the room his prison is in has a small area of corruption around it-that can actually kill people, in fact sacrifices are made there etc. DC 19 check or something to get near him
The fortress is lead by a very powerful illithid telepath-since the daelkry cant communicate any other way. Hes physically immoblized.

lag-double post sorry, might as well make use of it.
Btw the stained one could easily be your worm lord-it doesnt detail to much about the type of abominations he unleashes. he also unleashes weaker abominations on a regular basis.

If the campaign is low level could be to stop his next big abom-If its mid could be to deal with it-if its epic it could be hes getting free and needs a slaying.

I've been using the Wormlord for awhile. His main lackeys are psurlons (the psionic ones from LoM), wormish looking runehounds and an Elf decked out with 4 beholderkin eye-stalks. There is also a phasm or two (one of the great unused creatures) whose change shape ability really confuses the PCs.

There is also the guy from 5N. Which makes six named.

Ah, excellent! It all ties in perfectly to my Shackled City campaign I am going to run! I'm going to substitute Adimarchus for the Stained One. :D

There are a lot of worm like symbiots you could credit him with creating as well. I think the winter cyst is one, and there is another very similar one that shoots lightning. I can't remember what it is called though.

Well... How "big" is Khyber?

According to a post from Keith, Khyber doesn't necessarily have to be constrained by the boundaries of the actual planet's surface. Khyber could extend, extra-dimensionally, to be as big as the DM wants it to be!

Basically, like most of Eberron, it's "as big as plot". :)

It suggets in the EBS that khyber runs underneath all over eberron-so, its bigger than the continents because it also goes beneath the oceans.
