It says that a Dal Quoir can posses a "willing human". Could that be any willing humaniod? Such as a changeling? Or a shifter?

Also would they gain the natural armor, weapons, ect..? Any maybe a shifter "racial rage-thingy" or a changeling's minor shapechange?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

At present, the use of the word "human" is specific and intentional. Quori cannot possess elves, dwarves, gnomes, etc.

However, their ability to possess "any willing human" is itself a relatively recent thing; as of a few centuries ago, they could only possess their specially bred vessel. Essentially, the hanbalani are bring the planes closer together. As Dal Quor aligns with Eberron, it's reasonable to imagine that the Quori would eventually gain the ability to possess any willing, sentient creature that has the capacity to dream.

So "could" they? Sure, if the DM wants to make that change. Reversing it could be a goal of a kalashtar campaign.

But by the RAW, they can only possess humans, and of course their empty vessels.

(You could argue they they could possess any creature with the human subtype; this would open the possibility of skulks, mongrelfolk, and similar creatures.)

A quori has access to all skills and abilities of a creature it possesses. It does not rettain any of these abilities after leaving the victim.

I see, this might be a good plot.
So if a Dal Quori takes the body of a human sorcerer they would gain their spells? Or a wizard?

Thanks!!! Again

Yes, for the duration of possession. The quori can use all of the abilities (skills, spells, etc) of the host, along with its innate psi-like abilities.
