| Phelf_Der_Zemit02-17-08, 04:05 PM | Ok in the new Tim Waggoner trilogy there is an assassin's Guild which uses dark magic to bind a dark spirt to that of a human, increasing there abilities and stripping them of some of their humanity, so they could kill more effeicently with out guilt or doubt. My question is were can I find more information on this ritual and what not to help with an up and coming character for a new campaign of mine? Thank You in advance. |
| angelofsorrow6602-18-08, 06:49 PM | while i cant give you more info on the ritual (Im new to Eberron), i would suggest that a non-psionic version of the Elan from the XPH would fit the bill. unless of course you plan to play it as a template. i cant help you with templates. (im new to D&D as a whole), so ill get back to you on that I hope that helps |

| Phelf_Der_Zemit02-19-08, 06:25 PM | It seems to be more of template form though. And I'm not sure what you meen by non-psionic, but I'll look at the possesion and chanling stuff. |

It's been awhile since I read one of Waggoner's books...The one I recall reading was sufficiently unimpressive that I didn't feel particularly inspired to get any of the others in his series. Any reason you can't just work with a variant on the Inspired or Quori-possessed? That'd be a pretty decent place to start, I'd think. Does it mention any other powers besides what amounts to better stats? Anything that couldn't be easily described/handwaved/etc by taking a level of Warlock/Sorcerer and fiddling the description of the spells to give them an appropriately dark flavor (ie magic missiles that are shards of congealed shadow or whatever; Summon Monster generating "unique" shadowy imps or whatever's thematically appropriate)? At the high-end, a couple levels of Shadow Dancer may work well, too. |
