| Vardaen04-27-07, 06:06 PM | In Dragon #351 there is a Dragonmark article about Dragonmarked Sorcerers. Does this feat work with Dragonmarked Heir and if so how is it different/the same? Thanks. |

| Wizardman04-28-07, 03:13 AM | timothyx covered most of it. The only thing is that dragonmarked sorcerers can still only cast spells from the Sor/Wiz spell list, so it wouldn't be optimal for every mark. A DM can always invoke Rule 0, but those are the official rules. |
| timothyx04-28-07, 03:55 AM | and it actually makes me want to play a Sorcerer now more than I did before, I've had the d'mag and didn't even read it until this post...and if you take it, and any one of the the Bloodline feats from d'mag 311 you can essentially get 2 extra spells per level dumped onto your sorcerer, making them far more versatile and then there's the really cool background story you could come up with for some awesome roleplaying... Of course, it also makes playing a Halfling D'marked Sorcerer, suddenly OMGWTH awesome, because now, with the scribe scroll, craft wand feats they can make wants of healing, where before they couldn't.. I don't know about you, but being able to cast Heal on yourself after flinging off an enlarged fireball centered yourself because you were surrounded by Orcs/Gnolls/Bbeg, is pretty sweet... and in general, it's a cute way of getting divine magic for free without having to multiclass. :) |
| Cifer04-28-07, 07:25 AM | @Timothyx AFAIK, you're still restricted by your own spell list, so Jorasco-Sorcerers basically just waste a feat since pretty much all healing is non-wizardy. |

If you read the feat description theres no mention of arcane/divine, nor any mention of restriction to your spell list, it states very specifically, "member of a dragonmarked house", nor does it state that any of the houses are restricted. |
| RogueElement04-28-07, 12:01 PM | True, a Jorasco Dragonmarked Sorcerer is one of the few arcane casters that can cast arcane healing spells. With Dragonmarked Sorcerer, there's really no reason to take Dragonmarked Heir. I would take the Magical Trickster prestige class from Complete Scoundrel over Dragonmarked Heir. You get to keep advancing your spell casting levels, which will give you the extra dragonmarked spell casting per day, plus you get bonus skill points and skill tricks. If you take Dragonmarked Sorcerer, I would also take the Blood of Siberys variant so you get the Diplomacy skills. You'll easily be the most influencial member of your House with that combo. Also, direct your DM to Rich Burlew's clarification/revision of the Diplomacy skill.
