So, I'm new to psionics, and I am having some trouble with these damn quori. I'm about to throw a dream master at my PCs, but I am a little clear on the rules. I understand how power points and powers work. But how am I supposed to know the power points of a quori? I mean how am I suppose to know how much damage I can have it deal with something like a mindthrust?

Please help, game starts soon....

If I recall correctly, most Quori have psi-like abilities rather than psionic powers. Page 184 of the Expanded Psionics Handbook indicates that psi-like abilities are "manifested as if the creature had spent a number of power points equal to its manifester level, which may augment the power to improve its damage or save DC." So use the manifester level provided in the monster entry and cross-reference it with the actual power manifested.

What Essex said works for all the psi-like abilities. Any other Psionics in play will have to be from class levels the Quori might have had, and he/she is limited in the number of points they can spend to augment the power by their manifester level (which would be equal to it's levels in whatever manifester class it has.)

It's like the others said, in that psi-like abilities are manifested and augmented up to their manifester level.

I'll go with your example, the Dream Master's Mind Thrust (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/mindThrust.htm). Do note, however, that the listed DC is the power (15) is wrong. If the Dream Master manifests mind thrust, then it will deal 12d10 damage with a will save to negate the damage at DC 20.

I hope this helps.
