Eberron Planetouched Revisited [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-01-07, 05:53 PM I know this topic has shown up on these forums before, but it seems to have mostly dealt with integrating or modifying existing planetouched into Eberron.

Since the setting has an proprietary cosmology it seems like it might make sense to custom tailor planetouched templates to Eberron's thirteen realms.

I say templates because, from the previous conversations on these boards, it seems like several people agree that there would be multiple ways to get the effects of planar influence on an individual without their having to come from a true breeding line that traces it's decent back to an outsider.

I'll throw some of my thoughts out there in a bit, but for the time being I just wanted to see other thoughts on the concept.

10-01-07, 06:41 PM Looking at this again, I realized that what I had in my head didn't quite match what was on the page.

For some reason I see there being three major types of planetouched.

Possessables: Individuals bred in order to better serve as vessels for visiting outsiders.
e.g. Inspired Vessels
Other planes that might have something similar:
Daanvi - Maintained by Outsiders to allow for orderly scouting
Dolurrh - Maintained by the Blood of Vol to provide hosts for the souls of the departed.
Fernia - Maintained by Drow (elf only template)
Mabar - Maintained by various bloodlines indebted to specific succubi or similar
Risia - Maintained by Drow (elf only template)
Shavarath - Maintained by various bloodlines indebted to one of the 3 warring factions
Syrania - Maintained by a sect of the Silver Flame

Semi-Native: Individuals carried and born in manifest zones, on other realms, and/or during coterminous periods.
e.g. Fire Gensai
All other planes (with the possible exception of Dolurrh) seem like they could have something similar.

Special Circumstance:
e.g. Warforged created while Daanvi is coterminous that have some of the properties of Inevitables instead of the standard template for Daanvi semi-natives
