How would you justify the Master Harper prestige class in Eberron? I'm going to be playing in a Zero campaign and going from Bard to Master Harper makes the most sense for me. The game is going to take place in the Eberron world though and with the Harpers being a Forgotten Realms organization I've hit a snag. Is there maybe another organization that resembles the Harpers in Eberron? So far I have either House Orion or the Wayfinders... though neither exactly fit. Seeing I'm the one that is actually DMing the game I can just force it, but I like to make things reasonable. Thoughts?

(a Zero campaign, as I know it, is where you model your character after yourself. Also known as "You're-the Hero", or "Zero-to-Hero". Often it's seen as the pinnacle of nerdom, and it's my favorite kind of game. So hush!) :P

No, there is no organization like the Harpers.

But IIRC, the PrC depends on 'gifts' bestowed by the gods, so it may be possible to fit it into the Church of the Sovereign Host, making it a divine bard.

Something like "Blessed Wanderer"? I could see that.

I tried my hand at finding a corresponding deity in Eberron for the ones that the Master Harper prestige class mentions. Here I have them divided into pairs. Thoughts?

Just be careful with things "bestowed by the gods". It would probably be bestowed by a celestial follower of a god, or a high ranking church faithful, who both say it's from the god... but remember that the gods of Eberron are things of faith, they never walk the earth, speak directly to their followers, and aren't even guaranteed to exist.

I think that goes without saying.

You can make up Harpers if you want. Nothing says that you can't find a way to adapt existing organizations into Eberron. An organization like the Harpers might logically exist as some kind of outgrowth of the Gatekeeper Druids seeking to integrate themselves into modern society, or as an ancient order associated with the Sovereign Host to combat evil (that sees the Silver Flame as a bunch of upstarts), or a less-militant order within the Silver Flame itself.

My favorite possible explanation is that the Harpers would be a human organization that carries out the inscrutable commands of the Chamber (the organization of young Dragons that seeks to interfere with mortal politics to safeguard the Prophecy).
