so my question is this would the feat and eventual PrC, spellfire weilder be viable in eberron, and what would be the circumstances? I have always loved the books and have seen and used these in faerun but when i was converted to eberronism i was unable to justify it. also would there be a race restriction or could the new races use it?

It's viable if your DM allows it. Almost anything can be adapted if you change it enough and your DM will let you. Something like Spellfire would be absolutely huge in Eberron. I don't know if your DM is willing to let you introduce such a major disruption into their campaign. Off the top of my head though there's the possibility it's super secret Dragon known magic. Thus you could be an agent for an enormously powerful Dragon of Argonessen. Some sort of divinely gifted worshipper of the Shadow. Feared and hunted by anyone that knows of it's existence. High level clerics/paladins of the Sov and powerful wizards. Perhaps it's some perversion of magic left behind by the Daelkyr. Lots of possibilities but the end result is the same. It's a big deal.

I would create some ancient giant artefact, burning itself into a creature offering the power (scaling like warlock perhaps) with one serious setback: Somebody will learn of your powers and somebody will research where it comes from. Very soon, you will have a couple of power groups on your tail, all who want to get the power for themselves. They just don't know yet, that you have to be killed, to get the artifact. But I don't think they will care...

Or it could be a Dragonmark type thing...either a aberrant mark or a unheard of Dragonmark called the mark of magic...

Or it could be the outgrowth the effect that destroyed Crye.

Or it could be a natural side effect of living in a magical heavy world.

Or your parents could have been dimensional travelers and have come orginaly from FR. Which you of course don't know...
