Nerdicus 11-27-07, 01:13 PM	Alright, so the core of teh idea is a form of sentient life that exists in magical fields. The idea comes from Artificial Intelligence. The idea is that through all the magical fields and permanent magical spells around Khorvaire, a new form of sentience has come into being. At this point all I know is that they exist in magical fields, and that they take on the magical properties of the field they exist in. I realize that this is sort of like a living spell, but i want them to be different. First off, my MI(Magical intelligence) are smart and are trying to understand what they are, and where they are. They can be very helpful to people or very bad, depending on how they are treated. Anyways, that is the base for my idea. If anyone out there has some thoughts on this let us know. Neigh sayers and Poo-pooers need not reply. I don't need reasons why this shouldn't be done, or why it can't work. Positive feedback only.

larry_the_titan 11-27-07, 02:00 PM	I am curious about what form you would give them. Do you want them to look humanoid, how about a ghost-like form, or would a non mindless living spell cover what you want?
Nerdicus 11-27-07, 02:19 PM	I'm thinking that they won't have a form outside of the magical field that they exist in. If they did have any form it would be most like whatever humanoids they have had contact with. As to the spiritual idea, I want these to be fully new. They would have no link to any plane of existence or anything.

skrap-san 11-27-07, 02:43 PM	I don't really have any suggestions about how, but a good movie of reference to your idea would be the anime movie Ghost in the shell. Its sett in a cyberpunk world and the story revolves around a program that grow sentient and seeks acceptance.
Nerdicus 11-28-07, 03:37 PM	After a bit more thought on these guys, here is what I came up with. Sentient Spell. A sentient spell is a new strange aberration of arcane spells that results in the creation of a sentient living spell. The initial spell that the creature is made from is the base spell and it defines the physical form that it can take. For instance, a sentient spell created from a light spell, would exist as light. it can move freely as light, but travels as light particles and so would be invisible until it found something to shine on. Or it could occupy the same space as something per the spell being cast on an object. This only works on in animate objects. From then on in it can attempt to absorb the magical energy of any spell that it comes in contact with.(DC10+spell level + caster level). If a spell is absorbed, the sentient spell is then given HD equal to 3+spell level. it is also given any damage dealing abilities granted by the spell as a lam attack, dealing same damage at will. If the new spell absorbed is not damage dealing, the sentient spell can cast the spell like ability at will. .....That's about it. The rest is pretty sketchy. Like, I don't think it should be able to take physical form unless it is made from a spell that would do so....like......stone to mud. or vice-versa.
