Hello, I am DMing for my Ebberon group for the first time and I need a little help. When I make an adventure, I like to make encounters where a certain party member can stand out and take care of the problem, these I sprinkle throughout the adventure so that everyone gets to shine. The problem is, I've never played an/with an Artificer and I need some suggestions for a 5th level Artificer encounter. Something where they can use their ability, not just RP.

Thanks!

Give them encounters and adventures for which they can plan ahead of time. Artificer infusions take some time to infuse and last a decent amount of time. This allows them to plan and prepare for the encounter beforehand, which allows them to shine.

You could also set up an encounter that might require a certain type of wondrous item and allow for some time (days) for the artificer to create the item rather than go out an purchase it.

Let the character have time and money to make items. After making a few items an Artificer is capable of most anything needed. Combats that benefit an Artificer should center around Constructs that aren't immune to magic. Send a group or 2 at the party of Warforged from time to time. I do have a couple questions about your game before I go much further. What race is your Artificer? And is there a Warforged in the party?

Hmm… :thinks: Well, make more unknown magic items appear that are minor magic items. This gives good credit for the appraise skill. Try placing the setting in Xen'drik for more items and fun.:ayyyy!:
