For that matter, are Bahamut and Tiamat present in the setting? Should they be? I'm still fuzzy on some of the draconic culture in the world. I know there's a book coming out in the fall, but anybody know anything official or have any good ideas until then?

You could try something like 3 variations of Dragonblood.

Dragonblood of Siberys: Appear more like Couatl and their favored class is Paladin.

Dragonblood of Eberron: Appear more like regular dragons and their favored class is Druid.

Dragonblood of Khyber: have a more fiendish appearance and their favored class is Sorcerer/Warlock.

Bahamut, Tiamat and the rest of the Draconic pantheon are worhipped by the dragons of Argonessen. Also, certain constellations are named for the dragon gods.

Its buried somewhere in the ECS, but its there.

Its interesting, actually, considering that all of the sovereign host have draconic alter egos. A good case could be made for the "real" gods having originally been very powerful Ascended dragons that gained divine rank and moved off to explore the multiverse, and then ended up being worshipped as gods, which then evolved into the sovereign host.

One could simply convert the rite of rebirth for the Dragonborn to being an effect of a magical location in Argonessen or some ancient site on any other continent remnant of the Dragon-Demon wars.

You could toss them into the Seren tribes, seeing as how they worship the dragons to begin with.

Dragonborn need to be accessible to more than just human barbarians.

To the best of my recollection (I'm in no position to confirm it at the moment), the ECS only mentions the constellations and doesn't say anything about them being named after gods. While it's obviously not a big stretch, I'm pretty sure there's no Eberron book that flat-out states that there are any gods, real or imagined, named Bahamut and Tiamat. I prefer it that way, personally - just as Edymnion has his infamous pet peeves, one of mine is other settings' gods in Eberron.

Actually, on the page with the 'Draconic Prophecy' sidebar and the tables spelling out the names of the days & months, there's a table entitled "Constellations (Dragon Gods)" or something like that.

That said, I do like the suggestion of making them based off the progenitors rather than off these ascended dragons. I'd probably make it so any dragon of suitable age can perform the transmutation magic to awaken a character's draconic form (depending on the char's alignment). That way you can have dragonborn Seren tribes, chamber agents, cultists, etc.

Well, you should definitely avoid Dragons of Eberron then.
