I don't mean to be rude, but is English not your primary language? Do you have access to spellcheck? I usually ignore typos and bad grammar, but I just can't really understand what you're asking.

Actually, considering what little I do understand and the way this post mangles the language, it seems as if he DID use a translation program or something...

I think what heīs trying to ask is whether Kalashtar would make good "Pharaos", i.e. "Eberronian Egyptians". I donīt quite see how THAT question could even come up (if you want to play an "Egyptian" go play in FR...), but I think that questionīs the point of his post...

No way. He misspells kalashtar different ways, which can't be the result of a program. And why would a translation program misspell words in the first place?

I thought he meant "Pharaohs" as well. But his "fact" doesn't fit with ancient egyptians as I know them. They were well known for worshipping a variety of gods. While kalashtar might be psionic freaks, I don't see how that ties them to ancient egyptians (neither they, nor their gods, had powers similar to psions, as I understand them). I guess that egyptians are good-looking...but that's a thin thread to use to compare them to kalashtar...almost as thin as stating that they are both awesome.

Use a spell-check. And re-read your posts to see if you've actually said what you think you've said. Because we have no idea what you're talking about.

I canīt see a connection between Kalashtar and Egyptians either. Kalashtar and buddhist monks? Maybe. But Kalashtar and "Mummy Returns"? No way.

But Kalashtar as alien psionic pharoahs ala "Stargate" showing up in Mulholorand (i know that's probably spelled wrong) in Forgotten Realms? Absolutely could work.

This thread belongs in a "Races of Eberron" discussion on the FR forum if that's where you are thinking of using them.

And no spell checker isn't a good excuse if you have an Eberron book right next to you to find the proper spelling for the subject of your post. May I suggest using an online dictionary (or even Google is good for spell correction).

True: developing a feel for proper spelling is nice, but it does take time, a penchant for reading, and the willingness to doublecheck. The new Firefox has a built-in spellcheck, too, so you don't have to run two programs at once.

As for Kalashtar pharoahs, I think it'd be interesting to have them as an "overclass", like the Inspired are in Sarlona, only, y'know, good. They just see themselves as gods, as do the commonfolk.

and where is that because I just went looking and couldn't find it.

Belongs in "a" thread, not "the" thread. As in, start the thread in the appropriate spot. Kalashtar are a race from Eberron, but the "Races of Eberron" book mentions that they can be included in other settings.

Just like I wouldn't go onto a FR board and say "Which of the 5 nations of Khorvaire should a Wild Elf be from?"
