Just for yucks, Shifter Hamster? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-15-08, 10:47 PM I was flipping through my Eberron stuff, not feeling very serious about much (I think I inhaled too many windex fumes), and I saw that shifters always take on traits of neat things like lions, wolves, bears, etc.

Why not hamsters? Out of room for all that gold? No problem! Stuff your mouth until it's three times as wide as your head! Did you know those little guys run something like ten miles in a night? Would that be a handy skill or what? And anybody who's ever gotten bitten in earnest by one of those little rotters knows what those teeth can do. Now just increase them to human sized! Yowtch!

Well, I said it was just for yucks...

02-17-08, 06:17 PM And an ability to hold perfectly still for long periods of time. We had one that would sit still for most of the day I swear, then jump as soon as you tried to poke him to see if he was alive. One day he really did die, and we didn't find out for a few days.

+2 to CHA, because the little buggers are so cute!
-2 to WIS, I've never known a hamster philosopher
Automatic Epic Endurance, but only for running and only at night

PC has a tendency to talk fast and to hoard things. Not the greatest of housekeepers, their homes are often cluttered with stashes of things tucked away here and there. Nervous fidgetting if sitting still too long may include shredding paper into tiny bits. (Keep them away from important documents, as they sometimes don't pay attention to what they're shredding.) "Dude! That was the map to the lost vault! Aww, don't stuff it into your mouth!"

Favored class I don't know, rogue maybe? Maybe even an artificer, as I can see a person like this with a hyperactive mind, hoarding things and then making things with them as their hands seem to always have to be doing something. (And yet there's that conflicting ability to hold perfectly still when they must...)
