| Nephallim06-19-07, 09:10 AM | Assumption 1: Every prime material plane exists with its own independent array of inner, outer, and transient planes with the astral linking them. Assumption 2: There are ways to get from one setting to another (although they likely aren't commonly known). Situation: Take a character linked to Dal Quor (a Kalashtar, Inspired, or Chosen) from Eberron and move them to, say, the city of Sigil. Would they lose their extra pp, since its supposed to be from a link to Dal Quor? Or would that link still be strong enough to provide the extra xp? That being said, is the Quori spirit bound to Kalashtar within them or, since they share it with other Kalashtar, somehow external? Is it possible that the link to Dal Quor would default to whatever local dreamplane a prime material plane's denizens dream to? I'm currently playing one such character in a Planescape game, and thus far we're assuming his abilities go unchanged (although he's a native Riedran, so he's becoming uncomfortable in the absence of the Hanbalani) thus far, but I was wondering what people thought. |

Consider, however, that the planes of Eberron sort of "orbit" the world and that Dal Quor is severed from the physical world. And yet the kalashtar still benefit from that link. It seems that the link from the kalashtar to the quori mind which provides the psionic power must span from the Material Plane, through the Astral Plane, and into Dal Quor. For it to function in Sigil, it would similarly have to travel from the Outlands, through the Astral Plane (which you say encompasses all planes), and then to Dal Quor. If you go to the Inner Planes, you'd have to figure out whether you're playing 2e Planescape, where you'd have to go from Elemental Plane to the Ethereal to the Material to the Astral to Dal Quor. In 3e they decided that it was too complicated and frustrating that way, so the Ethereal and the Astral are now ubiquitous and encompass all planes unless otherwise noted. |
