Knight Protectors of Galifar [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-19-07, 09:57 PM There's a new Prestige Class article covering The Knight Protector (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/prc/20070717) prestige class. Originally designed for the Greyhawk setting, the Knight Protectors of the Great Kingdom were once the mightiest order of warriors of the Great Kingdom, before the order was betrayed and the Great Kingdom destroyed.

Now, this class sounds like it could be easily adapted to Eberron, simply by making them the Knight Protectors of Galifar, once dedicated towards keeping order and protecting the Five Nations, before the Last War tore the order apart, many of it's members forswearing their allegiance to Galifar in favor of their birth Nation.

Still, some Knight Protectors held fast, remaining loyal to the ideal of a United Kingdom of Galifar even throughout the War. Some left for New Galifar in Q'barra, protecting what they see as the last ramnant of True Galifar. Others have joined the Sentinel Marshals to protect all of old Galifar's people in the new world order. Still others have become wandering knights, answering to no-one but their codes of honor...

Although the knights that are wondering around with no kingdom of there own could end up like the Teutonic knights; in that they could form there own country like you talked out in New Galifar in Q'barra.

Lets just hope that they can avoid any unnecessary massacres of random villages on there way to glory.:cool:

07-21-07, 12:20 PM Another option might be to use the Samurai fluff in Players Guide to Eberron for this PrC. Because, honestly, I could see Knight Protector being actually used, as opposed to the pathetic Sam.

07-22-07, 01:08 AM That actually exactly what I did with the Knight Protector in my campaign. I used them as the "bad guys for a good cause" in my story, since a relatively new member of the knighthood (was born during the Last War) had a crazy vision of ressurecting Galifar the First and started building an eldritch machine to screw around with Dolurrh's planar orbit.
(Truth was his vision was a quori-induced dream and he really created a machine capable of spreading the Mourning into Thrane, unbeknownst to him.)
