| AstralFire08-04-07, 09:39 AM | Not too familiar with the Eberron setting, and I don't have any of the Eberron monster books on-hand, though I can borrow them briefly if I know what I'm looking for. What's the cheapest flying mount I could buy as a level 3 character? Preferably something elegant or bright and colorful. Best I've found so far is a Pegasus, but I'm not sure if those exist in Eberron. I don't care if it can't fight - and I think my character would rather it couldn't, so she didn't put it at risk - just want something to carry me. |

With that in mind there is a specific dragonmarked house - vidalis - that specializes in animals, both mundane and magical. I believe a hippogryph is lower HD (and thus basically cheaper) as a flying mount. |

| wolffman00708-05-07, 12:38 PM | per the ECS GLIDEWING Large Animal Carrying Capacity: A light load for a glidewing is up to 300 pounds; a medium load, 301–600 pounds; and a heavy load, 601–900 pounds. A glidewing can drag 4,500 pounds. I think most medium size characters would fall into the light load catergory, even with equipment, unless they were a tank. Price 800 gp x2 if you wanted it magebred, I did, made it a little tougher & useful Exotic Saddle, Military is 60gp so either $860 gp for a regular or $1660 for a Magebred version |

That said, try coming up with something of your own. I love griffon like creatures and so made one that was part wolf part owl called a Luistrix. It can only hold a deium creature, but basically I took the stats of a wolf and an owl and put them together. And any creation can come from a friend of yours from growing up who was a marked member of House Vadalis who was the one to discover said creature and they are the ones who sold it to you. But Glidewings are rad too. |
