Well tell me what you guys think and yes you can take shifter stealth with this trait On aside note is their any stats for panthers in DnD? I want to make a werepanther weretouched master sub lvl for friend of mine. All it whould change would be the alt form stat boost and the 2 aspect abli's |
| Edymnion02-12-08, 12:54 PM | Seems rather weak, to me. The others get things like natural weapons, special abilities, etc. This gets a skill boost thats just a little better than a lvl 1 feat? I think you need to beef it up some. What about giving them a Blur effect while in shadows while shifting? |
| skrap-san02-12-08, 01:02 PM | I could definitively see that happen. Say a 20% increase to miss chance in shadow. Call it a camouflage effect or something. Still a 20% increase might be a bit game breaking and if so just make it a 20% miss chance in shadowy areas. One has to roll both the modifiers even if with other concealment effects. |
| LunarWolfPrime02-12-08, 01:41 PM | WoW I was not expecting to get that reaction of, what about giving it camoflage ( as in the ranger or scout abli ) at night only but give it a +6 bouns instead and the elite get hide in plane sight as a assasin while shifted? Any info on the panther any where or should i just use the stats of the tiger and drop the str by the same number i boost the Dex say may be 4 piont? |
| BlackDragon7142502-12-08, 02:19 PM | If your looking for panther stats, the leopard stats in the Monster Manual is what you're after. The book states that the leopards stats can be used for any big cat of similar size, such as mountain lions, jaguars and panthers. |

Could work, but it would be redundant with a shifter who goes for ranger/scout, unless your game never reaches higher levels - quite possible for most Eberron games, of course. I'd go with Edymnion's suggestion of the blur effect while in shadows, or possibly the ability to ignore the penalties for moving at full speed while hiding/moving silently, or even while attacking, running or charging. Any info on the panther any where or should i just use the stats of the tiger and drop the str by the same number i boost the Dex say may be 4 piont? The SRD suggests you use the leopard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/leopard.htm). Zoology, as far as I as a layman know, agrees: The black panther is the common name for a black (melanistic) color variant of any of several species of cat. Zoologically speaking, the term panther is synonymous with "large cat". The genus name Panthera is a taxonomic category that includes several species of felids including the lion, tiger, leopard and jaguar. However, in North America, the term panther is commonly used for the cougar (genus Puma) while in Latin America it is most often used to mean a jaguar. Elsewhere in the world it refers to the leopard. Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_panther) |
| Edymnion02-12-08, 06:14 PM | And if you do give it a blur effect, you can get away with making it more powerful than a normal shifter trait by restricting it to only working in light or no armor. Say its an effect generated by the body, and too much clothing or armor blocks it. That way, you'll naturally restrict it to classes that wear light armor, which is mainly the sneaky types in the first place. |
| LunarWolfPrime02-12-08, 06:21 PM | What about reducing the hide and move silently penalty for running to 0 while shifting, but take a -10 at full speed while not shifted for the elite. For the Weretouched master aspects I think #1 should be camoflage as the ranger class feature and #2 should be hide in plane sight in either shadow's or natural terrain. |
