It's been a while since I've post a new monster or template. This time, I've tried to give the moons more love:

Siberys-blessed

The twelve moons of Eberron slowly orbit alongside the Ring of Siberys. These stars have become key elements for understanding the dragonmarks and the Draconic Prophecy and have nurtured many legends and tales and. One of them is about the creation of shapeshifting beasts that serve Siberys’s purposes. Called “Siberys-blessed”, these creatures have been known to adopt various forms depending of the number of moons shinning in the night sky. It also has been rumored that a few of these creatures can harness the power of the moons beyond their capacities. Venerable moonspeakers (Races of Eberron pp 143) were the only ones who possess the power to transform fellow shifters into Siberys-blessed forms, but over the years, secret cults have been using those rituals. Today, this powerful transformation even appears at birth, which is a rare occasion that can stir up many events.

Creating a Siberys-blessed creature

Siberys-blessed is an inherited or acquired template that can be applied to any animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, living construct, magical beast, or monstrous humanoid, referred to hereafter as the base creature.

Size and type: Animals become magical beasts with the “augmented” subtype, and all Siberys-blessed creatures gain the “Shapechanger” and the "good" subtypes. Size is unchanged.

Speed: Siberys-blessed creatures in alternate form move 10 feet faster in all modes, besides burrowing.

AC: The base creature’s natural armor bonus increases by 2 while in alternate form.

Attack: In its alternate form, a Siberys-blessed creature gains claws (if it can otherwise use its limbs to attack) and sharp teeth. It may make a single claw or bite attack as a standard action. For a medium base creature, the claws deal 1d4 points of damage and the bite deals 1d6 points of damage. If a creature already has claw and bite attacks, when the Siberys-blessed creature is in alternate form, the damage for those attacks improves as if the creature were one size larger. Furthermore, if 6 or more moons are present in the sky, the damage increases again by one step.

Full Attack: As a full attack action, a Siberys-blessed creature in alternate form may make two primary claw attacks and one secondary bite. If the base creature had another primary natural attack, it retains that designation and the claws and bite become secondary.

Special Attacks: A Siberys-blessed creature retains all the special attacks of the base creature, and gains those below.

Alternate form (Su): Siberys-blessed creatures can change into a more bestial form. It grows fangs and sharp claws and its body bulges and thickens. When exposed to moonlight, Siberys-blessed creatures must change form or use the Control Shape skill to resist doing so. Injury may also force a change. A Siberys-blessed creature’s alternate form varies and becomes stronger when more moons are present in the sky. Each of the twelve moons bestows different abilities on Siberys-blessed creature in alternate form. However, if a Siberys-blessed creature tries to resist changing, each moon beyond the first increase the check DC by 2.
A Siberys-blessed creature has trouble changing form when the moon is dark, absent from the sky or during daylight, but it can use Control Shape to attempt to change form if it must. Furthermore, each moon present in the sky beyond the first bestows a -2 penalty to the Control Shape check when trying to return into normal form. For the purpose of Control Shape, this alternate form is treated as a lycanthrope’s animal form.
A Siberys-blessed creature can also attempt to transform into its alternate form beyond the actual number of moons present at night, but doing so is risky. This is treated as a voluntary change (DC 15 or 20), but for each additional moon the Siberys-blessed creature tries to transform, the DC increases the DC by 2. For instance, a 3 moons transformed Siberys-blessed creature trying to achieve a 5 moons transformation would receive a +4 DC increase, while an unshaped Siberys-blessed creature trying to achieve a 12 moons transformation on a moonless sky or at day would a +22 DC increase. If the Siberys-blessed creature failed such a check, it reverts back into its normal form and takes 1d6 points of damage (no save) equal the total of moons it tried to emulate. As such, the first creature would take 5d6 points of damage, while the second creature would take 12d6 points of damage. Furthermore, it cannot attempt to change for 24 hours.

Holy and Magic strike (Su): A Siberys-blessed creature’s natural attacks are treated as good-aligned and magic weapons for overcoming damage reduction.

Moon powers (Ex, Sp or Su): A Siberys-blessed creature gains one or more powers from the moons present in the sky. If the ability is spell-like, the caster level is equal to the Siberys-blessed creature’s HD.
Zarantyr, the Storm Moon (Ex): The Siberys-blessed creature gains immunity to effects of winds and precipitations of all kinds.
Olarune, The Sentinel (Su): The Siberys-blessed creature gains a +4 enhancement bonus to its Wisdom score.
Therendor, The Healer's Moon (Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains the ability to cast cure serious wounds three times per day and mass cure light wounds once per day, both as spell-like abilities.
Eyre, the Anvil (Ex): The Siberys-blessed creature gains a +4 bonus to all Craft checks.
Dravago, the Herder's Moon (Ex): The Siberys-blessed creature gains a +4 bonus Search and Survival checks, as well as a +4 bonus on wild empathy checks.
Nymm, the Crown (Su): The Siberys-blessed creature gets cured of thirst and starvation status, as well as fatigue and exhaustion. This power may be used only once per day.
Lharvion, the Eye (Ex, Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains a +4 bonus to Listen and Spot checks and can also cast see invisible three times per day as a spell-like ability.
Barrakas, the Lantern (Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains the ability to cast discern location once per day.
Rhaan, the Book (Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains the ability to cast sending three times per day.
Sypheros, the Shadow (Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains the ability to cast displacement on itself three times per day.
Aryth, the Gateway (Sp): The Siberys-blessed creature gains the ability to cast dimension door once per day.
Vult, the Warding Moon (Ex): The Siberys-blessed creature gains a +4 natural bonus to its AC.

Special Qualities: A Siberys-blessed creature retains all the special attacks of the base creature, and gains those below.

Scent (Ex): In all forms, a Siberys-blessed creature can detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell. It can identify familiar odors just as humans do familiar sights.

Damage Reduction (Su): When in alternate form, Siberys-blessed creatures have damage reduction of 5/magic.

Fast Healing (Su): When in alternate form, Siberys-blessed creatures possess fast healing 3.

Low-light Vision (Ex): In all forms, Siberys-blessed creatures can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Skills: All Siberys-blessed creatures have Control Shape as a class skill.

Abilities: In alternate form, modify as follows: Str +2 and Con +2 for each moon, and Dex +2 for every 2 moons.

Alignment: The base creature's alignment shifts to good.

Challenge Rating: as base creature +3

Level adjustment: Same as the base creature +6

Love it shifters rule, HOOOOOWWWWLLLLL!

Now that I got that out of my system I would like to say thank you now I have the in fo I need for making my lunar stones shifter artifacts.

Imagen 12 crystal spheres that look like the moons themselves each with a diffrent power each guarded by a lvl 12 moonspeakers of a diffrent trait (thier are 11 traits official, trying to come up this a 12th) each with a moon that they rep and a animal as thier totem. It is just I am having serious prob's with come up with the effects of each one and what they can do when all together, or should their be any effects on the shifter guarding or carrying the artifact say like special effects to their shifting or some thing else.

Also another reason for needing the 12 traits is this I want to make a new shifter holiday that is made of a wide variety of compition's form the athelitic to entertainment ( story telling, dance, song, etc) even a fighting tournament. Think of this Lunar festaval as the olympics for the shifters an the authority's presideing over these games are 12, 8th lvl shifter sub'lvl druid 12th lvl moonspeakers each with a difrent primary trait to rep their clan, totem animal, and moon.

How ever this is where another prob rises it's ugly head what animal rep's which moon and which trait best?

I have been pouding one this idea for more that 3 month's at this rate my head is going to :headexplo

Sorry about that and the rant, I really love the temp.

One last Q though if you or anyone reading this has an idea for the camp idea or artifact ideas noted above pls pm me?

Thank you, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for your comments.

This template is basically about the moon appereances in the sky, without much concern about the planes.

Hey this could be a a reward for those deemed worthey thought the athletic events during the Lunar Festavil, give to them by the Moon Speakers useing the Lunar Stones as a focus, that could be how it got started and then a arcain researcher could have stumbled across it and the every thing else on how the knowlege of the ritual's spread is lost to history.

Oh on a diffrent note how does this sound for the 12th shifter trait, Shadow Walker trait: while shifting you gain a +2 to DEX and +4 to Hide and Move Silent checks, the elite gain a the ablity to run with only a minus -10 on the checks mentioned above while shifted, this trait is also cappable taking shifter stealth feat as well.

I'd strongly suggest that this template also have the Good Subtype, if associated with Siberys. Plus the natural attacks should be also Holy as well as Magic.

Just one subtle thing to mention, when refering to DR, holy should actually be written as "good-aligned". I guess this is what you mean.

"Unholy and Magic strike (Su): A Siberys-blessed creature’s natural attacks are treated as evil-aligned and magic weapons for overcoming damage reduction.

Alignment: The base creature's alignment shifts to evil."

You may want to change that "Syberis" to "Khyber". They sound great! ;;D
