| bsdraggon03-10-07, 08:19 PM | Hi there! I was looking on making a Warforged Paladin/Artificer, and trying to find some PrC that give me full BAB and +1 level of existing spellcasting class so I could advance infusions...but the only ones I remember are Dragonslayer and Platinum Knight, both from Draconomicon. But these two PrCs only advance 5/10 spellcasting... Does anyone know any other PrC that I could use? Thanks. |
| fiendish_platypus03-10-07, 09:09 PM | The only things that come to mind are the warforged juggernaut (not sure if it has infusion +) and the Spellcarved Soldier (I think that might have infusion progression) wich is in RoE |
| bsdraggon03-10-07, 09:42 PM | Both Warforged Juggernaut and Spellcarved Soldier doesn't advance infusions, although Spellcarved Soldier require to use infusions or cast arcane spells in order to enter in the class |

However, if you gout +1 spellcasting every level or even most of them, it would be a lot better. i imagine your DM might let you get away with it. |

I think that giving them +1 spellcasting would make them really powerful for gishes, since you can enter the prestige with arcane spellcasting. The first level of this prestige is quite nice: +1 BAB, good fort and will and free extended infusions...the other four levels just suck... |
| Kelios_Lyonsmane03-13-07, 06:25 PM | Well Eldrith Kinght from DM guide 3.5 would be nice . +1 BaB at every lvl and +1 Caster lvl every lvl except first ( bonus Fighter feat instead ) nothing else but still ... Also it's pretty easy to get in. Just not sure if Infusions can be considered arcane spells and vice versa . |
| AvonRekaes03-13-07, 07:39 PM | THere's also the Knight Phantom from Five Nations. I remember it being pretty similar to Eldritch Knight. |
| bsdraggon03-13-07, 09:26 PM | The problem is that, according to Magic of Eberron, infusions are not arcane neither divine, the only ways to advance infusions are by "+1 level of existing spellcasting class" and "+1 level of infusion-imbuing class", and there aren't much classes with these, especially with full BAB... |
| wolffman00703-14-07, 01:30 AM | i think the spell carved soldier requiring infusions, but not advancing them at all -blows & i too think its underpowered it should get 3 levels of +1 caster maybe? myself id allow infusions to work for the Eldrith Kinght or to change it from arcane to infusions required & modify any skills that may be required actuall ive got a new player joining that wants to be a warforged fighter/artificer and im gonna suggest the eldritch knight w/ using infusions as a PRC i once played a cleric that was an archer type & really wanted the arcane archer PRC, then i had an idea & asked the GM "hey could we switch all the requirements to clerical stuff instead?" he said sure it didnt change the class any, just needed divine instead of arcane casting, everything else stayed the same, except maybe a know skill or such |
| Grey_Mage03-16-07, 09:33 PM | Ive allowed spell carved soldier to advance infusions at every level after first. Its not nearly as powerful as just allowing the racial substitution feats for warforged. |

If I were DMing, I'd probably be inclined to bend a few rules and grant a bit more leeway with the prestige classes, if only so that the character'd remain on a power level that's closer to what its ECL would predict. |

Yeah, I realized that it would suffer from MAD...instead of wisdom(I would require 14 for paladin spells) now I need inteligence(16 for all infusions), and since warforged lose charisma, I would be in a really thought time with this build... In the end, I decided to make an human Paladin/Cleric/Exorcist of the Silver Flame... Thanks for all the help folks!:) |
