Maybe the PCs want the treasure or they want to slay the beast, or must find an object hidden in the hordes of gold. It could work but Cthulhu would need to be one of the toughest Hombres ever fought in D&D History (CR: 25-30) it could work |

Grammatospelliwankery aside, Sounds good to me. I think the Post 20 is still considered Epic in 4th ed, Epic is just being included in the core book this time. I personally see the Old Ones in Eberron as being some sort of product of the Daelkyr. Sort of Improved versions of thier other minions, or the equivilant of a Siege Golem sort of thing, but abberations... Perhaps they are Demi-gods, in the same way that the Lord of Blades is, in that they Daelkyr created them, then the lesser related version started to worship them. Like, Ithilliads pray to Cthulu, so they gain spells from Cthulu, and he gains power. That sort of thing. |
| Pirate_CaptainCrunch10-14-07, 02:10 AM | Thank you for correcting me My spelling isn’t that good ya know but Cthulhu could be an Ithilliad, or an Ithilliad giant thingy And gains power by people praying to him (or her, I guess) It could be like a roper, but instead of having regular gems, dragon shards But is would need ridiculous damage reduction and spell resistance |
| TiwazTyrsfist10-14-07, 11:59 AM | So, Most of the Old Ones have official D20 stats out there. If you can pick up a copy of Call of Cthulu d20 cheap, I'd recommend it. My general list. Cthulu - Lord of Ithilliad Shub-Nigurath - Oozes and Gibbering Mouthers Yog-Sothoth - Beholders (Slightly modified, see below) Dagon - Sahuagin And so on. Those are the four I generally use, and Azatoth as an Over Power. On Yog-Sothoth, I tend to make him more material. Picture a central orb, with a mouth, orbited by a thousand eyes. That's my version of Yog-Sothoth for D&D usage. Each eye, like the eyes of beholders, casts a spell, but Yog-Sothoth (Whose eyes are infinite) can cast ANY SPELL in this manner. |

Actually, I like the "Profits" version better. Fits with something really, really stupid House Cannith does in order to get back their place as the de facto First House, like dealing with the Lords of Dust or the Inspired. |
| Pirate_CaptainCrunch10-18-07, 09:20 PM | nicee i just thought of somethin else to make house cannith mess things ups it was created to level cities in moments... bigger than giants, but still "warforged" MEGOLEM unleashed by evil wizards from MEGOLEM's eternal slumber on an extra-demensional-space prison its first target, SHARN CITY OF TOWERS!!! i think it sounds too epic for ebberon, but i bet someone will try somethin anyways |

Are you sure that it would Cannith? I think that it would be a Kundarak. How they can store the Profits of Doom.... dun dun dun |
| OctaviusIII10-19-07, 04:49 PM | Perhaps they are profiting from the doom itself.... figuring out a way to crash the stock market and make a massive profit on it. Or the profits are the doom. You make a killing, but in the process you will be killed! |
