Question about Quori [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-22-07, 11:54 AM I have a little question about Quoris. I’m DM and I want use these creatures against PC but I don’t understand one thing. Can I use Quori in Eberron or just in Dal Quor and astral plane ?
My problem is not an encounter with inspired, but only with quori…

07-22-07, 12:18 PM To stick within the storyline of the setting, I'd say only use Quori either on Dal Quor or under extremely unusual circumstances (one momentarily manifests in a Hanbalani Atlas or some such). Sort of like the 'old ones' in the Hellboy movie or any other extraplaner threat bound behind powerful magical barriers.

07-22-07, 02:42 PM Well if you carefully read the description for the inspired, you'll notice it says they have some fiendish blood, and I doubt they would use any fiend other than a quori. So there were some quori on the prime, if only for breeding purposes.

But I seriously doubt there wold be many quori on the prime, there simply is no real need for them to be there, and their presence can cause unnecessary complications.

07-22-07, 07:45 PM The Quori cannot enter Eberron in their own bodies; the only exception is a very rare reality storm, or something like that. Far as I know, the only ways you can use them is to have them be possessing someone (such as an Inspired, or just some guy they convinced to let them in), or to have them snipe from the Ethereal Plane.

07-22-07, 09:46 PM From what I read in the Secrets of Sarlonna, the Quori indeed cannot enter the material plane, except if they get caught in a wild zone connected to Dal Quor. However, it does say that Quori can attack people while dreaming, and though they cannot actually kill anyone in this sort of a battle, those that die in their dream are then subjected to the effects of a nightmare spell. Of course, the whole dream battle thing may present a host of issues, including that warforged and kalashtar don't dream. However, the book also hints that perhaps if enough Quori Monoliths (those big egg-shaped things, I don't remember their proper name) are built, then the Quori could manifest on the material plane again.
