SCION OF VULKOOR
As a worshipper of the Cunning One, and an adherent to the ways of the wild, your bond to scorpions grows closer. Through various rituals, feeding your blood to your companion, the ingestion of venom or self-inflicted scorpion stings, you and your companion can learn more from each other than you ever could before.

PREREQUISITES : Blessed of Vulkoor; Handle Animal 8 ranks, Knowledge (nature) 8 ranks; Wild Empathy; Patron Deity Vulkoor.

BENEFIT : Your scorpion companion's Intelligence increases to 2 for purposes of skill points and feats based on hit dice. However, as it possesses more intellect instead of pure instinct, it is now susceptible to mind-affecting spells and effects.

If you are a druid, you may add the following shapes to your Wild Shape ability, based on level:

5th - Monstrous scorpion (Medium or Small)
8th - " " (Large)
11th - " " (Tiny)
15th - " " (Huge or swarm*)

If you are a Ranger, you may use your blood as a poison. As a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity, you may inflict 1 hit point of damage upon yourself to smear a single weapon or unit of ammunition with your own blood. Thereafter, the weapon or ammunition may be wielded as though covered in a dose of scorpion venom, with a Fortitude DC of 10 + 1/2 your Ranger level + Constitution modifier, primary and secondary damage d3 Con.

The envenomed weapon may be used for one successful attack; afterward, it must be given another coating of blood. You may use your blood as a poison a number of times per day equal to 1 + Constitution modifier, to a minimum of once per day.

Additionally you gain a +2 bonus on fortitude saves versus organic poisons (but not alchemical, magical or inorganic poisons).

EDIT/BUMP: Previously the ranger section of this feat was undeveloped, merely allowing the character to use any type of poison at all without risking self injury, and had a higher Fortitude bonus. This new version has bonuses and drawbacks as part of the feat, has a slightly lower Fortitude bonus, and is dependant upon Ranger levels to continue increasing the poison's potency (the more time you spend with your companion, the more you can learn about its venomous ways).
