Rekko 01-30-08, 12:45 AM	As anyone ever thought that the Scorrows could be one of the creations of the Daelkyr? In the Umbragen section of SoX, it says that the drows of the Umbragen tribe fought aberrations and the Daelkyr in 997YK beneath Khyber which forced them to rise to the surface world. The Daelkyr might have created the Scorrow to infiltrate more easily the ranks of the drows who viewed them as touched or chosen by Vulkoor. The question which rises here is why would the scorrows live in the jungles, apparently working on rare occasions with the drows (and why would the drows approach them) and apparently freed from their Daelkyr masters/creaters? Not to answer one way or the other, but bear in mind that the Umbragen have no interest in Vulkoor; their faith is in the Umbra itself. Vulkoor isn't somehow hardcoded into the drow; the Umbragen know nothing about him, while the Sulatar scoff at their savage scorpion-worshipping cousins running around in the jungle.

But still ... couldn't the Scorrows be Daelkyr meddling with Drow for manipulation and the thus Vulkoor have grown from seeing these drow-scorpions? Wouldn't this make for an interesting idea or behind the scenes story for parts of a campaign?
Hellcow 01-31-08, 01:12 PM	Sure. Note that I said "Not to answer the original question". I've got no issues with a DM deciding the daelkyr created the scorrow. My point was simply that the Umbragen wouldn't consider them touched by Vulkoor, because the Umbragen don't believe in Vulkoor.

And if the Umbragen have been pushed back to the surface, there's a chance these other drow tribes have been pushed to the surface as well. Then, now it would be more accurate to ask my question: What if Scorrows were created by the Daelkyr? What if the original purpose of the Scorrows was drow hunting? Or what if the Scorrows are actually the origin of Vulkoor? How the fact that Scorrows are created by the Daelkyr influences the drows-scorrows relation? etc. Rekko

I merely wanted to expand on the concept into something in a different direction. Not at all implying that you were indicating one way or another. Rather, I was postulating for something else. Just so you know, your input is greatly appreciated. Then, now it would be more accurate to ask my question: What if Scorrows were created by the Daelkyr? What if the original purpose of the Scorrows was drow hunting? Or what if the Scorrows are actually the origin of Vulkoor? How the fact that Scorrows are created by the Daelkyr influences the drows-scorrows relation? etc. And these are the same questions that I started thinking about as well. These ideas truly provide some interesting fluff for campaigns.

Perhaps, when the Delkyr were twisting the first Drow into Scorrows, they made a mistake - there was a flaw in their creations that allowed a few of the strongest willed Scorrow to escape their control, fleeing to the surface with the Drow and joining the tribes there. Meanwhile, in the depths of Khyber, the Daelkyr have eliminated the flaw in their design, and a new breed of "True Scorrow", even more twisted, with more and greater abilities, await their master's commands to begin the war anew...
